Some growers stock there grows with Praying Mantis in order to keep other insects, such as aphids and spidermites, to a minimum. Last week, while I was on the road near Chernobyl, I came across this Super Praying Mantis. I figure that not only will he control the insect population in my growroom, he'll also devour any RIPPERS ! I knew it was some sorta water thing.
The little leg things down its side gave it away.

Yeah, that's right, it's a Mantis Shrimp. I'm sure that no one will ever believe this, but they are very good eating. Jmoneyz got it right, but unlike Hawaii, they grow that big all the time here. These things are in the water all around you whenever you go to the beach anywhere in the SE US and the Caribbean. I.ve never been bitten by one, but those claws can do some major damage. Strange as it may seem, they are some of the best eating shrimp I've tasted.
Anybody want one ? Captu4ik.
