Alot of yall doubt that you cant get a good grow with out dishing out tons of cash.. Im sorry i dont have a job and So i cant really dish out too much and yet im still wanting to grow.After some thinking i realized I got shit laying around the house i could use You know just to get started. I mean everyone could use a couple practice grows just to get the feel of it you know. After going around the house i realized i had some pots Layin around They werent being used so there you go Wash them out and You dont gotta buy new pots.. 1 problem solved. Look around some more and You'll proabably find some soil that was used to fill those pots.. If not 3 bucks and walmart Go get some. Now take care of the lighting.. If your lucky and have a hps light or Mh light laying around then by all means use it..IF not then Gather up about 20 bucks and back to walmart Get a shoplight fixture and 2 4 foot plant lights for it. Or whatever yu want after all it is your plant These just had more lumens. I asked a buddy and he said he had an extra Compact floro i could borrow. so now i got The pots the soil and the light's. ive always had box fans or those rotating ones so i had fans taken care of..Timer i just used a spare that a friend had. the extra little gadgets you want to add on go for it. but that means total is below 30 bucks..Now for some pictures.. again nice plants but hell save up more and get a couple more of them shoplights if thats all ya got....i use the daylight spectrums cause they seem to boost my internodal growth for some reason...

MAn just trying to prove that you can get nice plants even if you aint fortunate enough to have hundreds of dollars laying around to blow...Some of us are college students or Are just plain broke. The fact is is that I wouldnt need a super powerful light to grow pot for my personal use..I would much rather get a few grows under my belt b4 updating all my equpiment and buying more expensive stuff. I guess im just the few and far betweeen cause its looking like im the only one that believes this now days.. >>P.S. i didnt write this thread for those of you that can afford all the high power stuff..I wrote this thread for beginners Yall have the hps threads so im shoing new people that it can be done

Its cool mikey..IT just bugs me when people say you cant grow Or shouldnt grow unless you have tons of money.. Even tho im young i guess you can say im old school I dont need all the fancy equipment to Push out some high quality thc..I understand that with Stronger light ill get better results..But honestly im not looking for the best bud in the state Im just experimenting With the things i got laying around so in a few years i can dish out some cash and Grow Bud with out the chance of fucking it up You know what i mean? Its not that i can only afford Floro's Its just that i got other things i need to spend my money on First So the floro's were the cheapest option for me and for most beginners. I mean ive been growin bud since i was 16 so ill add a few more grows to my belt then ill upgrade to a 400 watt hps Then ill proabably be like yall and say fuck floro's But WE all gotta start somewhere..And i know some well respected growers that once started out using the same equipment that im talking about..Right now im still at the stage that im just amazed to wake up and see a beautiful plant in my closet and know that one day she is going to fuck me up beyond belief..In the end thats what makes it worth it for me:icon_smil Oh yea and even if you dont got money still doesnt mean you shouldnt smoke Been smoking 5 years now Dished out proabably 1000 bucks or more so far and the rest of the time i just toke up with friends They smoke me out i smoke them out So dont be sayin that if your broke you shouldnt toke...I mean what are friends for?

yo jm no one said it cant be done But if youre gonna grow get what you can.those plants look fine BUT for the time it takes to grow them that person WONT get enough to call it sucess..i highly doubt that the harvest will be more that MAYBE 3/4 to 1 oz.not more but maybe less.most weight is water when wet.when those plants dry he/she will lose more than they might think.only my opinion but if i wait that long to grow a few plants get enough to call it a harvest not a half OZ.no offence ment just an opinion...bg420

I have used fluoros for vegging,and i think i will use them again next time i get a new batch of seedlings up,the plants seem to prfer the "softer" light when they are small,the leaves are bigger too,i noticed that they seem to have to get bigger to catch more light,this is just a personal observation,not anything that i have read or "found" on the net.


Ok,pros and cons of fluoros versus HPS (High Pressure Sodium) or MH (Metal Halide).
* Fluoros do not emit as much heat as a hps or mh,thus good for growing in hotter climates.
* Dont have to worry about frying your retinas with a fluoro.
* Dont have to worry about getting ya hand or hair burnt if ya happen to get too close to a hps or mh.
* Have too use more fluoros to get the same "results" as a hps or mh.
* Fluoros dont dry the soil or medium out as much.

Um,thats about all i can think of at the moment,any one with any other suggestions or recommendations please add them.:thumbsup:

well, I've got 11 cfl's for my grow....running 24/7 then 18/6 and now 12/12, my electric bill hasn't gone up at all. So that's another plus for cfl's. From what ive heard and read and researched....hps and mh's use more electricity and the bill goes up some. I'm all for spending LESS money....imma cheap bitch hate to spend money when I dont have to

Hows the flo grow going man. That's what I got is CFL's and mine are doing great. I have 2 females and plan on harvesting about 1/2 oz from each after curing and drying. BTW Taylors Do-It Center is like a Lowes or Home Depot. I could tell by the Do-it on the flo bulb LMAO

con with flos- it takes alot longer to harvest because of the slower growth rate.

would it be beneficial to start out the seedlings with 24/0 cfl's for the first 2-3 weeks and then switch to 18/6 430hps horti's once they mature some? my grow is already about halfway in but im already planning my next. money is no issue for me.

id throw um under the cfls for a week maybe two then throw um under the 430 @ 24/0 till 12/12.

I put seedlings and clones under the t12 fluor which is what you have. Then veg under a t5 fluro but for flower I use a 1000 hid. I think it is cool to tinker with fluros but I like to have plenty to make oil for me and bud for my wife at least enough to last until next harvest usually 8 weeks to flower 7-10 days dry and 2-4 weeks cure. 1/2 oz per plant wouldn't work for me but if it works for you then go with it. I think people take advice as a personal attack. I don't see it that way.:animbong:

If $ is no issue then get a t 12 fluro for clones and seedlings $40.00 with good bulbs on 24 hour cycle
a 8 lamp 4' t5 for veg and moms $400.00 18-6 hour cycle
and 1000 hid for flower $120.00 bulb only 12-12 cycle
Those are the lights I use and they wotk for me
