Making ISO Oil

First attempt in making iso oil.

Is the liquid suppose to be a green color?

Only in the alcohol for a min, 2 at the most and this is made from trim.

Did you grind up the trim? I think that makes it more green. Did you sample it yet? Whats the consistancy? Never done ISO, hence aqll of the questions.:animbong: :animbong: I see a smoke off in our future:uzi:

The green is normal but you can reduce it(chlorophyll) it is water soluble while thc is not. You can use hot (not boiling) water rinses to leech out the chlorophyll before trying the extraction. I would like to suggest you try using everclear( pure grain alcohol) for extraction. It is a solvent that is safe for human consumption and due to its much higher alky proof is more efficient. I have been using it in my ISO II for a bit over 30 years now.

My ISO oil is never green. Did you chop up the trim ? Was it dried ? I've never see anything like that. I use fresh, just cut trim and popcorn buds along with 91% isopropyl, and have always obtained a very potent product. I fill a 40 oz. jar with trim, add the better part of a quart bottle of isopropyl, cap and shake like hell for exactly 120 seconds, immediately pouring off the alchohol through a strainer, and letting the alcohol run out of the trim, but not mashing or wringing it out. The solvent is usually a light yellow, and transparent. Boil it off in a double-boiler and look out !

When making ISO oil, keep this in mind : There is minimal amounts of THC in your weed, it is on your weed : trichomes. All you want to do is wash these trichomes off the surface of the weed. The nasty stuff, carbohydrates and sugars, etc., are in the weed. By drying the weed you make it more alcohol-absorbent, and a long soak just helps you get more of the nasties from in the weed.

It was Dried and Chopped up a bit.
I was looking for another method to get rid of my trim, i usually make a run in my tumbler but decided to try this.

No samples yet SFC, hope it will be dry tommow

ummm, i wonder is that why my BHO is harsh,,, i do use over the amount of butane i should?????????????????????

It really should not matter how much butane you use IMO. It all gets evaporated anyway. I have made three batches now,and other than when I mixed in som kif it is always super smooth...

Right on:thumbsup: Man I got so stoned on Honey oil the other day I thought about quiting altogether:lmao: Luckily it passed LOL. I have one more run to make yet,and then I should have enough to last for many moons......
