Spring is full on here at my place and I have been working hard creating my 'sacred space' as I like to call it. http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/crazy/1092.gif Basically I have an area the size of a football field in the center of 3 acres that I am clearing out and making into my own garden if you will. A place I go to hang out with my animals and smoke doobs while taking in the beauty and peacefulness of the land. I wanted to take you all for a walk thru my garden and show ya a little of what spring brings to these parts. Let's take a walk shall we? I got the doobs...:smoke2:

We start our journey at the rear of the house with a quick look around......looking to the east where the sun rises for me each and every morning....http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/crazy/089.gif

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Backyard041405C.JPG

And looking to the west we see my lil 'crack baby'. http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/crazy/061.gif She REALLY wants to go with us on our nature walk, but has to stay put this time 'round. So sad for her. :(

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Backyard041405A.JPG

That's where we're headed...forward and downward into the forest. If you notice in the center of the pic there's a slab of concrete just below the tree line. That's us.... :beerchug:

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Backyard041405B.JPG

Standing at the top of the steps we look back and say goodbye to my trusty sidekicks. You can see behind their kennel the last remnants of 'shit' I still have left to rid this place of. What can I say....my roomie is an ex tweeker. Behind the kennel there is my compost bin.

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Backyard041405D.JPG

Notice the bald dirt lines.....that used to be lined with rocks which I removed since it had never been kept up. Just to the right in the pic is where a huge garbage pile used to be located. I burned what I could and made a dam out of what was left (glass bottles and cans...couple matress springs) along with all the rocks I pulled out. I then leveled everything with water and filled in low spots. My goal is to have it fill in with grass and wildflowers. Anyway this is what's left of THAT mess. I call it my 'slagheap'. Someday someone is gonna uncover this shit and wonder WTF?

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/slagheap.JPG

Shall we descend? :animbong:

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Stairs041405A.JPG

I see I have a follower..... :cool2: Kitty likes to join me for walks as well. Look to the top of the picture and you see my roofline. Once dropping over the edge we lose all sight of any habitation which is VERY cool.

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Stairs041405B.JPG

Look over to the left here and check out my swing chair. :D I cleaned this area up a while back. Used to be huge stacks of pine limbs from a bullpine a buddy of mine cut down a few years ago. Roomie never got around to burning the piles so I did it. That was a full day of humpin' and sweatin' but the fire was HUGE. I love all the granite rocks with moss on 'um. Very good energy spot right here and makes a great staging area to throw the ball for my dog.....it's ALL downhill from here. ;)

This is where these cool lil' red flowers reside...

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/redflower.JPG

Just below this area we find a pretty good variety of wildflowers and even some small ferns...

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/pinkflower.JPG

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/yellowflower.JPG

Going down the hill a bit farther it gets more wet with moss covered oaks and lush thick grasses. This spot has it's own kinds of flowers as well. Trippy to see all the lil' micro climates throughout.

The property goes further down still, but I didn't walk down that far since it is not part of my sanctuary... so we are headed back up now a little bit to the west following a gully. This is the area I am currently working on clearing out and one of my favorite spots. It's all canopy in here and really shady on hot summer days. I cleaned up the trunks of the trees of undergrowth. The place just feels good...perfect for smoking doobs. Let's stop and have one now K? :smoke2:

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/DoobspotA.JPG

Looking back down...see my spot? :D You can also see where I've been hacking the hell out of the trees. These are scrub oaks (grey ones) and manzinitas (red ones).

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/DoobspotB.JPG

Walking up out of the canopy we find this BAD ASS granite slab. I call it the 'flaming rock' http://e4u.deltait.com.au/dressed/bek009.gif because of this trippy orange and red stuff growing on it. Not exactly sure what it is though. This is where I come at night to view the stars and meditate. This is a high energy place and rejuvenates my spirit when I really need it.

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/flamingrockA.JPG

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/flamingrockB.JPG

Some violet flowers....totally cool.

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/violetflower.JPG

More orange patches....

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/flamingrockC.JPG

Up on top of this rock is a pretty sweet area I have not stared working on just yet. Guess this was the place the roomie's ex. liked. You can see the remnants of her handywork with the small statue http://e4u.deltait.com.au/dressed/bek047.gif and wooden swing in the background. The views from up here are spectacular!

https://www.growkind.com/gardens/Herbsparky/1530/Zenswing.JPG

Check out these flowers I found growing up here. They look like pom pom's. http://e4u.deltait.com.au/dressed/bek099.gif

Well that's it for the tour....thanks for joining me and hope you enjoyed the walk. I'm gonna go play around on the putting green now.

Hey man....how many peeps go down there?

Id be johnny appleseed tossin magic beans in some of those spots if that was a secluded area

Sparky
04-18-2005, 11:55 AM
It's not as secluded as it looks Tibs. There are people all around me in all directions....just can't see um to well thru the trees. I've scoped the entire property out and found one spot i MIGHT be willing to plant a seed, but why risk it? I have a fine operation going that nobody can find. ;) Just not worth the risk.

i hear ya sparks,it just aint worth the risk, ive recently moved to a new property with a secluded garden and a real nice glasshouse just waiting to be used, thing is what if the neighbours got a sniff of it, sod that , i really would love to give outdoor growing a shot but my indoor operation wouldnt go down to well with the authorities here :bandit:

Smell is exactly why I won't do it Misti....Not that I worry about people finding it. I can control that factor, but can't do much to stop the wind. Soon as they smell it they come sniffin round where they should not be. No thanks.....I'll stick with the O3 generator. :bongdude:

Kinda like the internet equivalent of bird flu.... it only affects you if ya mix with infected poultry,so we should be okay....;)
