I have a ph problem, I think. At first I thought this was a burn from using to much ferts but people have told me its from a ph that’s off. I have three plants right now that have this problem. The fan leaves of my plants started to turn yellowish and get yellow spots. The plant that I noticed this on first now has dark purple fan leaves. I have a cheap ph meter but I don’t think its working, every time I’ve tried to check the soil ph the meter says the same thing even though I’ve given them ph down twice, and after some advice from someone from growkind today I gave then a little lime juice with the fertilizer and water to try to get the ph to the right level. I’ll post pictures of the first plant when I first posted about the problem on growkind and then pictures from today with the purple leaves, and then pictures from another plant of the same strain that has the problem but not to where they are purple yet. The budsites look fine but I’m worried that soon it will start to effect the bud also. What should I do about the ph meter and what can I do to help my girls out?

go to hydro store- buy ph up ,ph down and a good meter- keep the ph from 6.5-6.7 if you can.

Looks like a healthy Ph problem to me.. Tell us a little more about your grow. What nutrients are you using and set up etc is most important. Also just so you know, dumping a bunch of chemicals in your grow to try to correct the problem actually makes it worse.. For instance Ph Down And Ph UP is ACID for starters, to much of this will make your ladies not happy.

The nutrients I’m using is fox farm tiger bloom, and they are in fox far ocean forest soil. They are in about the 4th week of flowering under a 400 W HPS. I have the fan on a timer set to come on three times a day, the first and third time the fan comes on for an hour and a half and in the middle of the 12 hours for two hours. I only noticed the problem a couple weeks ago and as I said someone said it was a burn so with bad info I couldn’t work out the problem. I knew that giving them to much ph up or ph down could be bad so I’ve only done it twice and then asked for help at growkind. I want to have an all organic grow but I’m sure that ph up and ph down aren’t organic. I have a soil ph tester but I don’t think its working because its showed the same thing every time I’ve tried to test the ph. I’m stuck and my growing experience is limited so I’m worried that the problem may continue to worsen, what should I do?
first,,, fan should be run continous while lights are on at least.. changing ph is worse than having it a little high or low,,, i think you have a N def,,, did you feed grow nutes in flower??????
those airy buds look they they need N as well buddy,, sorry,,, good luck...

The fertilizer I’m using is tiger bloom which is 2-8-4. I stopped using it for a while when I started to think they had a burn but I started it back up the other day.
I just read something I have saved.
Nitrogen Deficiencies:
Plants will exhibit lack of vigor, slow growth and will be weak and stunted. Quality and yield will be significantly reduced. Older leaves become yellow (chlorotic) from lack of chlorophyll. Deficient plants will exhibit uniform light green to yellow on older leaves, these leaves may die and drop. Leaf margins will not curled up noticeably. Chlorosis will eventually spread throughout the plant. Stems, petioles and lower leaf surfaces may turn purple.
I’m thinking about getting grow big which is 6-4-4 or Big Bloom which is 0.01-0.3-0.7. Which would you guys think would be best, I may get both sense I will hopefuly be cloning them soon and I don’t have any veg or grow ferts.
The descriptions online for each are,
Tiger bloom - 2-8-4
Ready to bloom? Tiger Bloom makes it happen. This is an ultra-potent, fast-acting, high-phosphorus fertilizer with just enough nitrogen to sustain healthy, vigorous green growth during flowering. The low pH keeps it stable and ensures that the micronutrients will be available when plants need them. In addition to containing critical trace minerals, we brew our liquid fertilizer with earthworm castings and kelp meal for a biologically active formula.
Grow big - 6-4-4
Get your garden going with Grow Big, our fast-acting, water-soluble fertilizer for lush, vegetative, compact growth. Use Grow Big early in the season when young plants need an extra boost. We add earthworm castings and Norwegian kelp into this special brew to encourage sturdier, healthier stems and leaves, but we also provide enough nutrients and trace minerals to create the kind of healthy branching that you’ll need later in the season for more abundant buds and blooms.
Big Bloom - 0.01-0.3-0.7
This odorless, liquid fertilizer is a live culture of vitamins, amino acids, natural growth hormones, enzymes, and beneficial organic microbes. Our special, micro-brewed formula incorporates earthworm castings, bat guano and other high test organic ingredients that offer a full, balanced range of nutrients. Norwegian kelp improves nutrient uptake and increases yields. Rock phosphate helps transfer energy from one part of the plant to another, which means bigger buds and more fragrant flowers.
What do you guys think I should get and use, I will most likely get Grow big for my next round of vegging plants but do you think I should just get that and give my girls that are in flowering them too every week or so, or should I just get Big Bloom.
Also if anyone uses these or has before with suggestions or opinions, and any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I got a ph meter on my last trip to the hydro store. I thought it didn’t work because it always said 6.5 and 6.5 is right about where it is if I just hold it straight up like it would be in the soil. When I follow the directions on the package of the ph tester, right away it goes completely alkaline and then slowly goes to the line right between 6 and 7. If this is working then I may not even have a ph problem but I’ve been thinking it wasn’t because I gave them ph down twice to try and get it a little lower because of bad information about the ideal ph.

You must leave that thing in the soil for a couple minutes. Also the leaf tip burning is coming from an over fert problem it seems. That will never repair itself.
You also need both of the bloom formula's FF offers.
It looks to me like you fogot the big bloom and you are lacking some key micronutrients too. Remember with fox farms as well as most other nutrient lines, some nutrients are split up into an A+ B type setup or split their bloom ferts into two parts.
If you are only using the Tiger Bloom then that's one part of the problem. Not using the other Bloom Fert you need.
Go to Wormsway.com and you can look up feeding schedules for fox farms products.
Trill hit the pH range right.. 6.5-6.7 is what you aim for... and guessing at it is def not the way to do things...
So here's my question...what is the pH of the soil right now?And not just in one pot, every pot and every plant that you have going.
Sometimes checking the pH in a few different spots in the pot and taking an average works well also. I know it sux but with analog meters that's the way it is.

Every time I’ve checked the ph I’ve left the meter in the soil for about a minute and a half, and also checked another spot in the pot. Also every time I checked the ph I did it in all three of my girls that are flowering. Today I got a new ph meter that is some different kind but once I check it with both I’ll know that if they are both reading the same thing its probably accurate. I also mentioned to the lady that runs it that I’ve been giving them tiger bloom and she said something about it that it shouldn’t be fed to them alone, that it should go with big bloom. I also picked up grow big for vegging and big bloom because of what she said, and she gave me a fold out poster thing that has a feeding schedule that I’ve seen online before. I’ll start to give them the correct nutrients according to the feeding chart and check the soil ph with both meters and hopefully its at the right level.

Your into the 4th week of flowering almost 5th ehh.. In my experience I have not had Marijuana begging for nitrogen 4-5 weeks into flower using fox farm grow big as a standalone during my veg stage..I have used that as a stand alone with a few other necessary additives in the past. My opinion the N prob can be eliminated right now, which is why I was thinking seeing a healthy PH prob. After looking and looking at your pics and taken in what you have explained, Newf said something pretty damn important about your fan. 3 times a day is not gonna cut it bro. Which is why I'm wondering what your temp is in your grow space with the light(s)on. How are you exhausting the spent/stale/used air in your grow space?? What ever person you thought was giving you bunk advice about heat stress might be on to something with all things being said and considered here. Whats your temp/environment in your grow space like bud.. GTD

 I forgot to mention. All this trouble shooting bullshit probs with deficiency's can be eliminated no more trial and error and no more guess work.. If you use PureBlend Pro Grow in conjunction with Cal Mag you will find yourself not running into any of these common so easily corrected problems with grows. PureBlend is a complete one part stand alone nutrient..
Until experienced enough to play with other lines of nutrients/fertz and Key micronutrients that the plant needs to be healthy and happy I suggest to everybody who has or is experiencing the same probs go with pureblend pro..

ive never used fox farm,, but i find in bio bizz that if i cut the grow at 5th week,, my plants yellow,, thats what i want at that time,, i like to see that in late flower,, imo, it means im getting rid of nutes instead of smoking them,, but bio bizz has low N in bloom ferts,, i use to cut at 3rd week,, but decided to extend to 5,, their schedule says to go to 6 weeks,, but all brands are a little different..
pure blend seems to be getting their ferts down pat now,, im hearing great things about it..
whatever you decide man,,, you need more fresh air in there,, good luck....
