Already had to kill 3 of my 4 plants on this first grow, fawning over my only femal I kind of freaked when I saw this banana about ready to pop! I read somewhere around here that baggy seed has a tendency to produce hermies, so I knew right away what it was. I castrated that sucker and will have to watch for more. Careful of that baggy seed folks!
Bummer but it could be light leeks , temps or stress....hard to say?:blazed:

:lmao: :uknooooow:
Kill it ... a hermie is no good to anyone :hitit:
Sometimes you just have to do it, bad luck 4 out of 4 bum seeds .....
If it is bagseed it probably is a true hermie ..... that's usually why there are seeds in the bag

Webby you should add them two pics to the faqs. Excellent examples Caddo:thumbsup:

Haha, Stash that's funny man! Thanks all, especially to Jedi Masta Bush for the swing-by.
SFC I was hoping the pics might be useful thanks fo the props :-)
Looks like I'll be startin fresh again (pulls chunks o` hair out). But I damn sure learned a lot this first time around. Need to get right with the ventilation in that room anyway, and hang the light from the ceiling instead of a shelf.

See told ya Caddo LOL we had a chat about this. That really sucks though. I grew Hermies for months thinking I was a crappy grower before i found out that it's just what bagseed does sometimes

Well you were right :-( I think you were dead on that its a mexican breeding thing, as in a genetic trait of the weed that comes from mexico and its allowed to continue that way because it facilitates the "fire and forget" nature of the commercial cropping down there. In other areas of the world such as Canada, U.S., Europe and South America the crops are tended too and the genetics are purer because of the attention the crops get.
Niko gurl thanks for the light suggestion, you may have told me about that before because I've made super sure its dark in there . . . took out my telecom equipment and everything. It could also definitely be the heat, as I've had a ventilation problem from the get go in there. BUT, its been steady at 82 degrees for about 2 weeks now, so I was gonna let this grow out before I did any more work in there. I think Blowstrees is right, the hydro really seemed "natural" at the slightly higher temp of 80 - 84, as opposed to the soil optimum of 78 - 82 ish. My thoughts are this, it was only one pollen sac, I'm hopeful that in the 4 or so weeks left of flowering no more will show up, but I think I'm gonna let it grow as I'm a bit desperate for some stash (not the penis-on-my-plant-rubbing Mod Stash mind you, but the smokeable kind LOL). I will post some more pics as soon as the lights come on today.

I am so sorry that you have had to learn the hard way like alot of other growers thinkin seeds r seeds........ This is a perfect example how a $20 seed purchase from Mandala or Nirvana could of made this experience WAY easier.
When you get some seeds, buy from mandala.... every strain they have is top notch...
Anyways, you can try to stay on top of the banannas but they will pop faster than you can pull em in most cases..
Anyways... ditch the bagseed, and get yourself some proper genetics caddo.

Thanks Wake, I intended this to be a learning experience anyway, got some genetics a couple weeks ago and they should be here any day now. Won't be able to start another grow for month and a half though :-(. Maybe I'll just camp out in the grow room LOL

Gotta dis-agree on the bag seed 'theory'.
My first grows were from bagseed and was good,if you have set your grow room/chamber up CORRECTLY you should have good results no mattre what seeds you use.
I have also had friends who have spent big $$$$$$'s on top notch beans and have had little or no success with them.
AND it is all about genetics, even seeds from a 'reputable' breeder can throw a male.;)

Could be herbgrower, my methods were far from perfect, stresses could have led to the males. Without more experience I can't defend the bag seed herm theory, but I read it somewhere and put me on the look out for it, then I found one. She seems to be all lady for now though, will post a pic in couple more days:-) I'll do a lot of things different in the future.

thought I would throw out a couple pictures of some he-shes i just found in my room, right in front of a fan:eek: I had to switch my light cycle in the middle of week 3 so I am guessing that is the culprit. Anyway, i chopped these down ,is there anything I can do with them, hash?? Peace and kindness,

^^^^^^^^^That will make some nice bubble hash .....pretty spacey too as it's so 'young', but it'll be good hash:thumbsup:
Trim it like you would normally, dry and freeze it ..... you can 'flash' dry in a dehydrator as you're not going to consume the bud/leaf material
That could be a lump of bubble by this time tomorrow:icon_smil

I have a chihuahua along with my pit bull... the lil fucker is always messing round my timer. Well just so happens that 3 times in late flower my HPS was cut on during the dark period for over 3 hours one day ... an hour the next time and about 5 min the next....
My mandala SQ never busted a nut on me... ever... Trust me i checked and checked and checked again. Most good breeders have 0 tolerance for hermaphordite genetics in their lines.
I wasted over a year on bagseed. Not only did i get hermie's with bagseed but also dual sex plants. I had one plant split into two at the base and on one stem grew male flowers and the other was female. Never seen that wil breeders seeds.
A proper environment is key, but good genetics is like the foundation of a home, if you dont' have that ... then you are just pissin in the wind so to speak.
However i did get 1 plant out of the 50 or so i grew that didn't go herm and produced some good bud... However with bagseed it's just a crapshoot and not worth the months you waste on plants with hermie genetics.
That being said, i have also seen some FINE bagseed grows out there, that blows me away.. But then again, it's just a crap shoot...
With all the decent breeder's out there selling their gear for pretty cheap. There is NO reason to grow with bagseed.... hell even to "learn"......
cause you can't get back them wasted months...

Exactly MWB ...... I wasted months on some strains and get told 'you had bad seeds' .... well maybe so but I'd rather try something else than repeat the mistake .... time is greenery:icon_smil :icon_smil
