About a dozen years ago, after I had a few indoor grows under my belt, I sought out an experienced indoor gardner, someone who had been doing it since the early 70's. I wanted to increase my yield.
I detailed my set-up. Lights & soil & nutes all a-ok.
I told him about my ventilation--leaving the door open during lights on with a fan blowing in.
"Bingo" he said.
He told me I needed flo-through ventilation. 2 fans (intake and exhaust) in a closed environment.
I thought to myself "how can fresh air increase yield?" and ignored his advice.
But the next grow chamber I constructed, I remembered and put in excellent vemtilation.
And was amazed at the difference.
Faster growth and bigger buds.
Because pot "eats" CO2. At a few hundred ppm's in the ambient atmosphere, the plant needs all the fresh air it can get.

Indoors we attempt to re-create the outside environment. And outside is fresh air.
Excellent ventilation is the link that is missing from many growspace's.

Spend a little time and $ and prove it to yourself.

i agree, ranger, that ventilation is essential to a successful grow.

installing an intake and outtake ventilation fan makes perfect sense with a 'grow chamber'. you were wise to take your friend's advice.

since i grow in a closet (and not a grow chamber), i achieve proper ventilation by having an additional fan at the top of my closet which blows out the used, stale air.

so i've got a fan blowing fresh air in, an oscillating fan inside circulating the air around and strenghtening the stems, and a fan at the top of the closet blowing hot and used air out.

if i installed ventilation fans in my closet door, it wouldn't be much of a stealth grow, would it?

i can hardly wait to have a grow chamber of my own someday so i can grow massive plants like yours!

Mary.....weve seen your buds....and theyre massive.

And I agree.....Having good ventilation is key. That coupled with oscilating fans....its the next best thing to being outside.
