Hi,
I posted this on another website last year and it did actually work pretty good. Here u go.
Ok, this might only work with small amounts and for ppl. who don't have the luxury of a seperate drying chamber. For larger needs you might scale this to fit your needs.
Foreword: I was harvesting some Kush. Only a small plant, but it really stinks a lot. I don't like buds hanging around here in the house.
Solution: a dryer, made faster than it takes posting this. Very cheap!
Items used:
* Two cardboard boxes, a small and a big one
* a pc fan and a power adapter (already wired)
* carbon cartridge for aquariums - I use a special brand - more later!
* some screws
* tape
* cutter
* screwdriver
* pen
* sturdy twists - used later for hanging the bud
* alloy faceplate with holes - optional!

First steps:
* Seal the small box with tape
* Draw hole for fan on it
* Cut the hole
* Attach fan with small screws
Wired for successful testing!
Pretty slick Don:thumbsup: I'll smoke to that:animbong:

Next steps...
* Seal big box with tape
* Cut door in the bottom
* Mount faceplate (this steps are more or less optional, you can as well leave the cardboard open a bit, to provide air exchange, drill or poke small holes in it, or only cut a door)

Close to finish!
You'll need one of those (the black ones) too keep it really quick and cheap (a pack of two 2.39 €) you can buy them at petshops.

The filter is called EHEIM Liberty. You want the carbone cartridges...
If you can't get them, the carbon filter sponges work as well. But you have to figure out a different fixing, be inventive.
OK, let's go!
* Cut a hole for the cartridge - slightly smaller than needed
* Apply soft violence to fit it in the cardboard

Last steps:
This has not to be perfect!
* Cut hole in the smaller box, large enough to cover the cartridge.
* Attach small box to big box over the cartridge
* Seal with tape
* Wire the fan

Ready!
I'll simply poke a hole through the top and fix the bud there with sturdy twists.
I thoroughly tested this and it worked well for me.
The cartridge eliminates most of the smell, while the fan on the adjustable power adaptor provides air exchange, therefore with different speeds.
Detaching, recycling and getting rid of it - very easy.

Only problem that I see is that there is no bud hanging in there,,LOL.
Looks like a good way to dry a few ounces,,,,How long did it take to dry inside the box?? I am looking for a way to dry my bud without the smell. Hate using my flower cab. Its two weeks I cant flower. Nice job!!!

It actually took longer to dry, because of the regulated airflow. Without, the bud would've been dry in a couple of days (it was last summer). With the box it took about one week. You can always use a more powerful fan and let it run at a higher speed. I didn't want to quick dry back then.
looks good buddy. i need something a little bigger,, the last time i hung my bud,, the wife took the dog for a walk,, about 15 minites in to the walk, she came across an old friend,, who immediately complained about the smell of skunk,, now i promise you, the dog gets no where near my drying bud,, but the smell gos through everything. another person told her they smelled skunk off her clothes at work,,,sooo, she is pissed,, i need to figure something out. my old buddy goferts(he is registered here as tgg) made a great box,, thinking of doing that with a carbon scrubber inside,, i have the scrubber cause i dont need one in my flower room any more,, its venting out at about 40 ft now :thumbsup:

Hey NEwf,,,wasn't it Goferts that had those pics of that drying cab, with the screen racks? That would rock if there was a scrubber attached to the top, and a small fan in the bottom. I am sure there is probably one attached,,dont remember. Good to know that TGG is Goferts. I built one similar that used a 40 watt bathroom fan, for air movement. I didnt use a scrubber though. I have been using my flower cab with the light off. Fans all on. Newf I am sure between you and Goferts you guys will come up with something awesome.
