And it's still running. It went to a lot of improvements since. I'm having a bit of a stressfull week from now untill next wednesday, but to grant myself a bit of distraction every now and then I'll edit this new thread.

^^^That's how the cab looked when it arrived. Currently it looks like this:

First the maple top went off, the inside was painted flat white, later mylar (lifesafer blanket / coockie wrap foil) attached to it.

Brute force destroyed the drawer, the hole was tightened with a weather strip and the front reinserted as a fake drawer. Then the back was sealed with silicone. :puke:
Note: Nowadays I would have skipped the weather strip and faceplated the remaining fake front of the drawer with a sheet of ply from the back and even skipped the silicone, would've been much easier, well live and learn.

Additional triangular wood sticks were attached to the front (red arrows) as a faceplate to block light, they were painted black later on.
A reflector bent from alloy, the E40 socked wired ant attached. Fitting the Environlite in was a tight one. The first Environlite went out with a bang after five minutest testing and was replaced immediately by the shop I bought it. I don't use Environlites any more ;) tho.

A Max/Min Thermometer was attached and made detachable, while the sensor stays inside. Active intake at the bottom and outtake near the light. No baffles or filter att. I successfully grew a NL clone in passive 'dro that wasn't smell intensive at all. Later on I used it as a mom/veg cabinet and it was continuously improved along the way. In winther 2006/7 however I gave the cab a complete overhaul, making it what it is today, I won't give away my "cab1", but I suspended "cab2" I build later on. Atm it's used for flowering, but comes winther, my moms may go back in again and the "IKEA" which holds currently my keepers will then likely be used for flowering again.

Only a quickie: Later on I made baffles for this cab out of cigar boxes I could grab for a welfare donation at a local tobacco store.

Now it's time for TEH BIG OVERHAUL :lmao:
That was the situation winther 2006/7:
Active intake from the bottom, active intake at the level of the lights, outtake on the opposite and a 120 mm fan moving the air around inside. The holes were made as wide as possible along the improvements. The two 65 W cfls were a bit bulky, but by far superior to the Environlites. No secret about it, I don't like them, because I know the ppl who invented them and sell them in person. Anyway the frankly admitt that almost all the cfls are used in the same factory in china. What they do is to promote them for growing and make big money with items that are quite cheap "it's only a light" (Clive from Nurturelites).
Enough ranted. My believe is to work with redundancy. If one of four cfls fails, there are three still. They're inconspicious, easy to get and easy to get rid off.

The wiring was remade as you can see. I added two 50 W cfls at first. The intake was made passive again and for the outtake I have one very silent 80 mm inside running on 24/7 and a 120 mm on the baffle that can hold a filter cartridge (activated carbone sponge or cartridge) on the outside.

As the two 50 Watters seemed to be better cooled than any previous lights I decided to add another junction box with two sockets on a second (redundant) circuit. I entered through the baffle with the cable. I could at least fit a 16 W cfl and a 22 W daylight UVA, UVB in, making it 138 W in total.

The pictures do not show the current installed additional lights, but you get the picture :lmao:
One more thing to add: The fan inside, moving the air around got a faceplate, so no more leaves can get into it and damaged. It acts as a diffusor and the temperatures are even steadier with that alloy faceplate.

The marble plate on top of the cab gets nicely warm, not too warm. Warm enough to propagate cuttings during the cold winther month with an illuminted cap over a prop on top of the closet.

This was back in the days when DDM forced everyone to open thumbnails in new windows/tabs making the browsing experience a rather frustrating process at times. : p :D
I too have been guilty of this crime lol. I plead guilty to the charge of forum blasphemy!
