Well I recently moved to a new town and state. I got no stoner freinds here and dont know anyone at all. I am looking for some work and not finding anything really worthwhile. For the first time in years I am renting, having sold the house that I recently had to rebuild. I like where I am at but there is a major meth problem here. The likes of which I have never seen not even in West Philly. I live in a remote and pretty quiet area. I have only one neighbor and my landlord owns that place too. It was empty when we first moved in, shortly after that, about 3 months ago, a couple seemed to move in.
I am in a very small county, my landlord knows everyone here. The landlord took pity on the couple moving in and gave them a break on the deposit asking for half of what they normally get. After three months and no rent paid they decided to evict the couple. I knew there would be truoble from day one, people in and out at all hours and very shady folks, Mom in law took a cake over for homecoming and we did not even get a thanks or the plate back. After only one month the power and water had been turned off, the gas shortly after that. The woman never showed her face after the first week. The fellow started keeping some odd hours, but the visiters had stopped, so I did not mind.
Last saturday I woke up to a stranger in my driveway,he introduced himself as the landlords helper, he makes small repairs and helps keep their numerous properties running smoothly. After he left my girl called the landlord to be sure what he said was the truth. It was so. He was posting a notice of eviction and wrote that the tenants had 72 hours to get out. Today the fellow returned and waited all day on my porch for this guy to leave. The sheriffs had been there twice to evict him but he wont answer the door. After this guy left about 3pm today, he went over there and checked the place out. He did not go into the house but had planned to do so, till he found a dozen small pot plants and the chemicals neccasary to make meth. He called the landlord(who has been bugging us for updates on the neighbors) and told them what he had found. The landlord arrived about 4PM today and called the sheriff's department and told them what their handyman had found. Right after dinner a narcotics officer arrived while I was on my daily walk with my dog. He asked me and the Old lady a few questions and we played dumb. "Is that really pot plants sir? Oh my gosh how horrible, they could blow us all up!" And so on. We really dont know much about this people and dont really care. I am trying very hard to stay out of it, but it's not possible now! The deputy left his card and asked us to call when the fellow shows up again. I feel very conflicted about this becuase of my own shortcomings. I am also concerned about revenge on the G/F or "mom in law", even the dogs I dont want hurt. I do own firearms and I am a decent shot with plenty of practice. As far as my own safety its secondary like MAD MAX I'll do what I must to protect my family. This guy would be pretty dumb to not know we called the sheriffs cause their is no one else out here. I dont know him from bupkiss but I am sure he will know me! I am a very noticable type dude.
Do ya guys think I should go ahead and call? He left these plants outside for the whole world to see, the cops know now and through no fault of mine. After this harvest I ll be shutting down for awhile and I am not pleased, but being smokeless is better than smokeless and busted. I am SOOO mad! I am also worried cause i know tweakers are pretty voilent and crazy at times.....
Ahhh.. man what a day!
Thanks for reading my rant I hope this stuff clears up soon!

wrtite a letter to your landlord .. but heres what U do..
carefully clip letters from a magazine, & then glue them on paper to form your letter. then late one night sneak it under the landlords door. that way the LL is the narc & not U..

maxxxy.....IMO, the best way out, would be to warn the neighbor ASAP. They've already been evicted, no sense in making an enemy OR risking the karma. If he knows leo and the landlord are on to him and he has any intelligence left, he should cut 'n run. Outta' your hair, the LL's hair and you haven't risk retalliation.
Do your best to make it appear casual, a chance meeting....leo could be "staking the place out". Just say the cops have been there looking, asking questions.
I detest crankers, and the chefs that supply 'em. But I think I'd put snitches on the list right alongside them. Cops get paid for that job, let them do it. I just don't see that you have anything to gain by getting involved further...

I'd suggest NOT getting any more involved.
The cops KNOW he's bad news; he'll be gone soon enough (maybe he already has).
What I can't understand is, if there is evidence of a meth lab, why the cops didn't break the door down, which they can easily (and legally) do.
Imo, the best thing to do is to have NOTHING to do with that person. He sounds like a ticking time bomb.

Yeah I was told there are some kind of civil right issues, the "evidence" was found by my landlords handyman. The plants though are clearly pot plants and they were outside.

Hillbilly I just might do that I dont know. I want to stay out of this as much as possible. I am in a remote area and I doubt the cops are watching. They just dont have enough manpower for that, they are swamped with meth problems. I really am only worried about the G/F and "mom in law" my safety is secondary.

the other thing that I am worried about is that this is a small county, I want to appear cooperative with the Sheriffs but dont want to be a snitch. I guess I just wish this would all go away.

I guess I'll play it cool and see what happens.

Damn Max that sounds pretty shitty. Things apparently are going great for everyone. Just found out I'll be leaving soon to Fort Polk, Louisannia for somewhere around 3 months then I get to come home for a little while and then I'm getting shipped out to either Korea, Germany or one of the sandlots for 6 months. Gonna be kinda shitty if I go over to the sandlots cause then the wifey can't go with me and she'll either have to live on base herself or move in with her parents so she won't be alone the entire time. Everything will work out for the best, especially when I get that $$$ check $$$ I'm right with ya on being smokeless, cant have anything bad in my system.Try to keep the loved ones away from the meth house though, don't want anything harmful on anyones skin.

Dont get involved Max play dumb this isnt your problem and you shouldnt have to suffer because of it. They shouldnt be dragging you into the middle of it this is the Landlord and authorties problem not yours keep your family safe and turn your back on it let them sort out the bullshit themselves its their job not yours....be safe.

If you have to tell them the truth that you dont want to get involved for safeties sake they cant argue with that, again its THEIR problem Max not yours man. Dont allow them make it yours...

It kinda sounds like even if the tweeker bails dodge theres probably a dozen more like him ready to move in and a landlord that doesnt seem to be able to tell one from another. It also sounds like you dont have any fondness for the town or the area and no strong attachment to it like a job or a house you own.

So Im wondering why you want to stay? When Im pretty sure theres someplace else you like and would rather be. If rebuilding houses is your thing have you thought about central florida? Lots of houses to rebuild there and the odds another four hurricanes sweeping through should be nil.

That's funny I left central FL because of the hurricanes. I had heard that the 4 hurricanes last year was the begining of a 20 year cycle of many hurricanes. As far as living here I dont really care where I live, Its the "mom in law" that wants to be here so.....
I know what you mean about the landlord oddly enough we have no lease, no paperwork of any sort. Like I said its a very very small county, the ONLY reason I would call the sheriffs is that I would like to have the brownie points if ya will.

SD I want to stay out of it bad, but I also see an opportunity here to keep my "enemies" closer if ya will. I doubt that I will be here much longer than i need to, maybe 2 years. Right now I dont have the money to move as the money went into the last house and then what was left was used up in the move here. I am hoping to move out of this town soon enough!

Its kinda moot point though the guy has not come over since the sheriffs showed up. Still not sure what to do I have always managed to stay out of this kinda crap. I used to deal with people like this through my "work" and it never bothered me then, now its too close to home man!
Well I'll keep everyone updated and we will see what happens.
thanks for the help though guys.
