Hey 420G,
Anybody know of an antifungal that is safe to smoke? In other words, one that I can spray buds with and not poison myself when I smoke them? This time of year is a risk for bud mold when the buds start packing on weight and the rains and humidity come.
Peace
I had a little mold on one last year. I would cut the infected chunk away, but it would be back in a new spot within another day ,or two. Basicly once it starts it doesn't seem to stop.

Manni wishi could help u on that one .. what about like Neem oil to get a protective coating atop the buds ?? i use pyola to kill spider mites n it is safe to Ingest later on ... But uhhh. WIth these 100 Degree days we been having im hoping the mold issues hold off at bay for a little while til our stuff finishes ;) I know that 3 days of rain had me worried about Waterlog happening .. but it should be about dry agn by now i think ...

SFC,
Yep, once the spores are there and the conditions are right it don’t take long. I have experienced this before and know it’s time to rapidly harvest when you see it.
X,
Yea Neem is organic and safe to ingest like 24 hours after application…not sure about the smoke though. My other concern would be any flavor imparted to the bud…Neem is a pretty strong smelling (albeit kinda piney) oil even when diluted with water.
Thanks N.F.,
I’ll look that one up.
We just cant win can we?…if we check our outdoor gardens a lot, it could draw attention…if we don’t check the garden a lot this time of year around here, the bud mold will get you.
Peace

Neem will only add to the bud rot. It is an oil, which will choke the bud of air, which is what is needed to prevent the rot in the first place. Neem oil has no effect on mold as far as prevention or cure.
Sulfer vaporizer will kill the spores. But don't use it past 4 weeks of flower.
There are some sulfer sprays which are usable up to 2 weeks prior to harvest, but aren't as effective as the vaporizer.
And sadly usually bud rot doesn't show up around here until the last two weeks of flower, so, basically once it starts you might as well harvest.
