So here is how I have ended up rooting my clones as of late. It works well and all you have to do is wait till it roots and plant it. I scrape about an inch and a half up the stem all around and drop it in the fish filter and wait a week or so and bam roots.

I pop my beans in the ole fish tank as well. I just put my little fish net hanging over the edge and throw my beans in. Most got tails after about 24hrs. Last time 6/6 popped and 5/6 were females, I am not saying it makes em females I am saying it obviously doesn't make em not female or any other crazy shit. So I would say its a great germing technique as well. :icon_smil

Hey there thedoob,

Can you tell me how big you cut your clones? I have normally cut mine to about 4-5 inches (2 nodes only) but yours seem to be quite a bit bigger. This interests me because I'm just about to take some cuttings and might try larger size clones to get vegging going quicker. Any problems with going bigger?

when the cuts are in water like that you can make em bigger but when i have done it conventional ways i do 3 nodes or so like you but this seems to do just fine with big cuts.

ive rooted all size clones from 2 in. to 10in. i dont think size really matter's much as long as the stem is still soft and not woody. i think its mostly on the strain whether or not they root. my ambrosia rooted 100% in 3-5 days
my Sweet Tooth inside the same system took 10-20 days and i would get 2 out of 10 to root.

Godness, once I topped a plant and tried rooting it. And what do you know, it rooted in about 10-15 days. I was shocked. Im thinking about doing it every time:thumbsup: I top a plant
