Resizing .NEF image files

Hi everyone, i have just bought a nikon d40 digital slr and i have some pics i want to share of this years yield but both of my photo resizers dont support the .NEF file the images are saved as off the camera.
I have also just tried an image converter but it too doesn't support the .NEF format, i need some help on this please, the pics i have from the greenhouse this year are worth it :icon_smil

Yeah the software that came with the camera allows me to view the pictures on the screen and lets me burn them to cd or email them to other people, but the size of the pics are 6 Mb so i have to resize them and there is no software with the camera to do that

The pics i have are of 2 purple urkels i have going and another one that is an unknown strain, one of the urkels is 6 and a half to 7 ft tall and the other is 5 and a half to 6 ft:eek: at least a pound on each:icon_smil
