California hasrecieved lots of rain this season (rain season is July1--June 30).
L.A. is 1" of rainfall away from it's all-time record, and 650 miles N where I live we're about 25% above average.
And it's pissing me off.
Out here, we shoot for May 01 to put out 8"--12" plants outside.
But it's been raining most days for the last 2 weeks, and it's raining now, and it's forcast to rain tomorrow and this coming wekend.
ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
I visited the friend I'm getting my clones from and he's getting crowded. We had planned to set ours out in 2 stages--1/2 May 1 and the other half May 15.
Well that timeline's all shot to hell.
And the indoor veg chamber will be overcrowded in a few more days.
When you transplant to new potting soil, at first the roots aren't gripping the soil, and a brief hard rain or medium rain throughout the day will cause them to fall over or droop because they will be waterlogged and unable to grow roots in wet soil.
Another reminder that farmong (of anything) is an iffy venture.
So it looks like I'll be setting plants outside Fri.'s break in the rain to put 1/2 the plants outside and prop each one up with sticks.
I know there are Indian Rain Dances. I wonder if there's an Indian Drought Dance?
