Have put 3 seed's in water overnight to pre-soak them, two have sub-merged,but one is still hanging around the top of the jar.
Um,has this seed got the potential to be a male or is it an un-viable seed? :(
Any input will be greatly appreciated. :ebert:

it means that our use of fossil fues has led to such disruption of the earths tempral field that gravity is reversing itself.

I think i have read somewhere that the seeds that float are bad seeds, or wont germ. I may be wrong though, give it a try. I don't think that it has anything to do with the gender though.

Have got the two that sprouted under fluoro's and the one that i was suss on,has showed it's tap root,i will monitor that one very carefully.
The first 2 are in dirt and i am waiting for the other one to get a bit bigger b4 i put it into the soil.

:icon_smil On bad seeds...that is...well if ya' all really want to know I'll share...I'm kinda spawned from a bad seed... see it's like this...I's from such a bad seed...that I had to learn how to run before I could walk...and there's more...but you can only handle so much bad seed talk at once...so I will create a thread in smokers...and when yer' in need of bad seed evidence...just pull that thread...threadin' and blendin'.'DC'.' :bandit:

I don't think there is a definitive rule that works for 100% of seeds. I'd say if the seed sinks at all there's at least a 95% chance it will germinate, and if it still floats on the surface after a number of days there is a much lower chance of germination...perhaps 10%. That's still good enough to give it a try. I generally give them up to 3 days in a shot glass of water then up to 5-7 days in a moist paper towel. After 10 days without at least cracking the seed's shell chances are slim to none that it will sprout.

Sometime a seed floats because it is so dried out, sometimes because it can't penetrate the surface tension of the H2O.
