Is 20 watt fluro lighting for 24/7 okay for clones? I did my first group at 18/6. My new group is 24/7 so I'll get the answer eventually but I'm impatient and curious so does anyone have any feedback?

I have the 24/0 lighting and have no prob. Although I have heard a few sayin that 6 hours of darkness stimulates faster root growth....ive never tried.

I've had the luxury of doing side-by-side comparisons on different lighting sched.'s.
24/0 produces the fastest growth, both for rooting clones AND vegging.

Thanks folks (folks is non-sex specific so it's safe) - annaC is also a 24/7 advocate - his babies get no sleep until 12/12. I think I'm being converted. Any one need an extra timer?

I like to use 24/0 x7 for seedlings or clones, but as soon as they have a good start I swith em over to 18/6 x7

Yep, after a few weeks the 24 on loses its effectiveness and 18/6 will actually produce more. I dont know why but it does.

another great debateable subject...
My opinion, is that mj will and can utilize as much light as it is given. I think the "improved" growth is actually the plnts stretching for light during the dark cycle, and not actually more or faster growth. In mt side-by-sides, the 24/0 proved to grow just as many nodes, but more compact, with less spacing.

Yeah I guess produce more is a misnomer for earlier. When height is the factor I use to go from veg to flower they get into flower mode sooner.

Hi Just to add, all cuttings and propagator seeds get 24 hrs with 6x 20watt envirolites on a white board 18 inches above. I go by size if there up to say 6inches in 5 to 7 days they go straight to 12hr on & off they still grow but start to flower way early which lets me control them
(20watt=to 100watt) costs lots less.
