I don't see why not, i think that would be just about right your talking about 3 weeks of veg right?
May not be the best idea. I would think that after 4 nodes of growth then 10 days to 2 weeks plus of sexing, they could need watering quite often. I would think they would suffer a bit from being rootbound, but I would worry more about them wilting, esp if you cant get to them ofte, IE long work days or so.

i think if i use some 6x6 square pots i'll be better off:thumbsup: thats what i usually use in veg but i usually don't pop this many beens:eek: i usually have a few nice mothers on hand but my current situation don't permit that. so instead of cycling plants in every 2 weeks and having and endless supply of bud i have to do full grows now. im pretty sure i can put them in 6x6 pots it will be a tight fit but you gotta do what ya gotta do;)

I use 16 oz styrofoam cups for my seedlings-trust me lol, you won't make it to sexing before they grow out of them! I transplanted into 1 gallon buckets, then later into 5 g.

i agree dont think thats a good idea. even if u make it ur gonna be creating root problems. i noticed it seems u can go a little longer with coco in cups then soil. if u have a space problems buy the square pots u can keep them a lot closer together with more medium..

Weedgrl- i usually start in one gallon then to 5's but i usually grow clones and try to multi top them and get em big. this grow has 52 seedlings growing in a 4x4 area. im trying to get around 2 foot single colas plants. i figure hopefully 25 fems 5 rows of 5 in 3 gal. pots. its just all the exrta dirt i have to mix to fill all 52 in 1 gal. pots and im not sure they will all fit in the tent.
FOREVER420- thats what i was thinking they'll end up root bound i was just hoping i could:D do you use coco what are the benefits of using it ??

Here is my Input!!!!
Let the seeds work the party cup for sure but not to much and then hit them with atleast a 1g pot. You should see sex by the time there root bound. The day you see sex you will need to get them into 2g or 3g for sure.
Some head from 1g to 5's and that is wrong I say but I only grow for me.LOL
I hit 1g and then 2g and then #4s witch is close to 4g for flower.
The slower the uppoting the better the roots. Some say stress but they might need a pill and not the plants.:lmao:
Best of luck brother. Tap
IMO, as long as you put them into a small cup or pot first for the root ball to develop nicely, they can then go into the 6 gallons I use.

Might I add that the reason I transplant into the 1 gallon first is because I don't want to waste the time and energy preparing all that soil for a potential male. As soon as they are sexed the fems get the big pots and the males...well, you know :indian:

Hey D9 hows it going buddy I saw somewhere you asked me what pots I was using since we are both in the same boat sorta as far as space for are babies but not enough space for pots.... I use 3/4 gallon right now but they arent even filled all the way I dont have any yellowing as of yet I am 4 days into 12/12 but I will be repotting in 3 to 4 days since they are all starting to show sex... I will snap some shots of the roots once they come out of those pots and post them up so you can see what they look like.

So you go from a small cup ot pot to a 6g??
Do you wet that 6g with a gallon + of water and wait till the roots use all that up??
I seen your stuff and your doing real well for sure. I just don't see the party cup to 6g as the best thing for a plants roots?? Tap

thats cool i'll just up the pot size after they get going i was thinking 1 gal. pots but if i can get them a little smaller 3/4 or 1/2 gal. then that will do. once i see one white hair they will go into 2 or 3 gal. pots as they will be small plants. instead of a few big lady's i will have lots of single cola plants aiming for around 2 ft. tall

Hey i am glad you brought this up, I have been searching about growing short single cola plants. Are you going to to do this in soil? I found one thread but its in hydro, so i did not know if that makes a difference? Also any ideas on yield by growing this way?
Thanks not trying to jack your thread...MNG:thumbsup:
I dont use cups at all, its just a clone into 1 gal, then a 6, but i have and still do in some cases go right from rooted clone into the 6. I just water lightly as the root syste develops. The earth is a pretty big cup, IMO the roots will develop fine if treated right, I always try to avoid repotting as much as possible.
