No, they confiscated it at the airport security checkpoint. Yes, no long allowed "lighters" are the lastest item on homeland's security list of contiband so if you have alighter, of any kind, and you cherish it, don't fly with it.

So they didn't let you leave it at the airport with one of your airline's representatives? I hope it wasn't some kind of special edition that cannot be replaced.

After 9/11 the first time I flew somewhere I had this keychain called the Rollmate (see picture). Basically you just wrap a rolling paper around it tightly to form a perfect cone spliff, glue it, take it off, and stuff it with your goodies. They claimed this thing is a weapon! LOL The end of it is totally blunt. A Bic pen is 100 times more deadly than this keychain. It's no wonder Homeland Security has done little or nothing to increase the actual security of our airports. Anyway, they let me give it to someone who works the ticket desk and I was able to pick it up when I returned to the airport at the end of my trip...and I still have it. :smokin3:

Yeah, on my flight to FL at the end of last month, I had to throw my lighter away at the security check point....glad my mom is a smoker, and had one with her when she picked me up at the airport...Got back to Detroit airport, no lighter, after a 2 hr and 41 minute flight, wanting a smoke...I asked the parking attendant if she had a lighter or matches I could borrow...she pulled out a box of cheapie lighters and told me to keep it.. :D I take it they get asked that question alot...:roll:

Last time I flew, they were practly strip searching everyone right out in the open, I truned aroung to tell my sister they were detaining me for further search (I guess it was the long hair?) and she was there in her fucking bra, blouse opened up and all getting searched.........I just couldn't fucking believe what was going on. But to get where I was going I would of went thru the line naked.......... :D

oh yeah, they kept the chain off my walet..........bastards, a 3 inch chain come on, it was alittle overbord, but fuck it. it's good to see people get jobs.
