hey, i looked in the search column and there doesnt seem to be a Thread on how to top...if anybodi could be kind enough to explain it to me id greatly appreciate it, Also id like to know after One tops, how much taller does the plant grow, if it grows at all height wise. And is it true that it increases yield and mass.

just cut the top of the plant completely off. it might get a little taller but not much all the growth will go to the secondary shoots and get bushy

There is a skill in reading a plant to see where to top and only you can figure that out. Well, Unless I dropped by and showed yah.HAHAHAHA
I've been playing with some that I topped at 6-8 inches but more or less I will veg a plant out to 16-20ish and then cut the top off leaveing 2-4 sets of side shoots. Might even top the upper ones if there that much taller and veg out more.
Most my plants are not single tops so you can see in my pics but I put up more bud shots then whole plant pics so you may have to look.
I made a thread over at BCBD and had links here, I beleave in my thread?? Tap
Here I looked it up.

lol i mean damn, i dont want to cut it wrong than mess up my plants, is there a certain way to top, any specific angle , etc....Also, what i could do is take pics of the tops of acouple of my plants and u tell me, (using the program paint) where exactly to top at, by circling the area or so....I dont know just a thought, or if you could be a little bit more specific id greeatly appreciate it.

i am thinking your are asking about FIM? since you mentioned where to cut......to me topping is popping off the leading growth shoot to promote side branching. I do now prefer LST for plants from bean to keep stress free.....clones, i break,top,fim,crush,twist.....so it depends the type of plant.
Also u mentioned where to cut, if you are wondering where to cut for cloning i can also see that considered topping. Give urself 4-6 inches, and the width of a matchBox Stick for the smallest....leave 2 nodes atleast!:blaze:

your making it more complicated than it is. its very simple just cut the top completely off near the top in between the nodes. here's a pic

Cutting there will not result in no new growth shoots at the topped area.
Fimming is much better. Cut half the new growth off at the top of the plant, the light greenish new leaves at the top. This will result in 2 or more new growth tips. This is great for LST if done at the second node.
For examples of this heres a grow log. Its on a diif sight but you will see what can be done. Its a noob grow so dont be nasty about it lol ;)

I would of taken that one down 2 nodes and let them sides all come up and make a 6-8 top plant.
And those bottom ones would be clones. HEHEHE
Good luck on the topping guys. Tap

Actually requires zero skills:icon_smil . I'd dare to say topping is easier than growing the plant lol, since most of us acquired the skills to use scissors in kindergarten.
That said I don't top anything, my plants do it themselves. WTF?
