Spiders don't read "how many users online". Spiders, only read html code.

So the spider was only reading the particilar page :bongdude:

The sprider bot read the entire "search" results for 420Genetics.

Im sorry Storm but you are incorrect.
Spider bots read every thing on the site they can access

search www.vbulletin.com for spider bots, to get the info i have

spiders can read how many users are on line and show up as a guest

Note:
VB logs IPS for every thing.
each different IP that shows up registers as a new guest unless you are logged in
then it shows you as a member.

So when yahoo was here getting a post, when finished it jumps IPS to a new topic( VB then Registers a new Guest ) thats how we got 358 users on-line.

Hammered by more than 500 Yahoo Slurp Spiders!
As of 2:48 PM EDT:

Users online: 571 (21 members, 550 guests)

Very, very strange. I thought it was referrer spamming, and checked out the "Who's Online" page.

21 members, a few miscellaneous guests, and about 540 Yahoo Slurp Spider bots from *****.inktomisearch.com. The board has a 15 minute cookie timeout.

I know search engine traffic is a good thing, but this is ridiculous.
