G13 the myth

i have been trying to find info on G13 witch i already know is almost impossible.
there is so much conflict with this strain. the only steady story i got is that it came from a university from government room 13. or i heard the 13 is because M for marijuana is the 13th letter. who knows:dunno: what im wondering about is the fact that some believe it was a female clone and some say it was a male cut. does anyone have a clue about any info on the strain? im just curious as i will be growing a G13 cross soon. and it would be nice to have any info.:puffin1:

Not from room 13. It is supposed to be the # of the pheno from a group of seeds.
University of Mississippi. Sandy Weinstein ( I believe that is his name) ran the program for the federal gov' there.

I have always been told it was a female clone. Not a male.

Something interesting to note
Everyone thinks of G-13 as a pure indica. However, some dutch guys that got it back in the 80's were saying it definetely has a heavy sativa influence and grows nothing like an indica.

There are pictures from inside the grow rooms and labs online somewhere. I have seen some early black and white photos.

Sup sup D-9 ;) well I've heard something bout how a ol school hippy who was experimenting with making a powerful MJ strain for the US GOVT actually decide to take off with it for himself but what I believe is that (back in the early 20's-30's) a very intelligent 50 yr old breeder named GIL js had breed a strong strain; got into his car with the strong dried/cured MJ to go share with his buddies across town; 15 minutes into the journey he gets pulled over by a shitload of local DEA/FBI/ATF/ICE agents!!! Well they took the newly strong developed MJ bud into their possession; told the breeder he's gonna become a new sciencentist for the US GOVT in growing strong cannabis. While the breeder was in the back seat of a agent's car; those dam agents decide to smoke the bud in front of him!... Once the bud was all gone, one agent goes hey that MJ was the best I've had in my life!!!! They had decide to give GIL an entire floor on the 13th floor to experiment on breeding that infamous cannabis the agents had smoked. As time went by, he had finally re-breed the strong cannabis strain the agents had smoked. :stirpot: As time went by, GIL got very sick & died :rip: :( (Luckily he had left thousands of clones) All the agents were in so much grief. The agents had an idea for this unamed strain. Shortly soon, they all voted anonymously if they should name the strain after GIL, have a new breeder continue his work & release the strain into the public. The count was 68-Y/ 0-N... ... They named it G-13 (G for Gil, 13 for the floor he had worked on) Ever since that day everyones been talking about that 1 guy... ... THE END

I've seen pics of the UoM setup. It is most definitely not a pure indica if G-13 is the strain I saw pictured.
Ever see the outdoor field there Use?? Like a 12ft fence with three rows of concertina on top, plants were a good 6-9ft using the fence as a scale. Looked very equatorial structure-wise, again idk if it was the g-13 or not.

the pic of the supposed original G13 has big Caylxs like the G13 cross i got going now. they both seem to have monster Calyxs.
