JCIO's Dabney Blue and Pre 98 Bubba Kush grow thread

I am starting this grow out with two clones. First one is Dabney Blue and the second is Pre 98 Bubba Kush. They are a special gift and a real treat for me. Many thanks again to the donor for this (My first) documented grow :thumbsup:

So first stage is here in the clone dome for about 9 more days. Then I will post when I transplant to biger containers and go from there.

Udate: The two clones look great and have rooted. It took a few days longer than expected for me to transplant them out of the dome, I sort of babied them for the first few days.

I've got the clones transplanted into 3 gallon containers and still under the flow's. I'll keep them under the flow's for about another week, then put them under a 400w HPS. I know that sounds like overkill for two plants, but they are worth it to me. My girlfriend has the camara and will be home later, I'll post a new pic tonight.

I was just going to post some new pics and realized I didnt' post the pic's after I transplanted from the clone dome to the 3 gallon pots......

Here are the Dabney B (First 2 Pic's) and the Bubba K (Third Pic). This is two weeks after I transplanted them to the 3 gallon pots. They are still under flow's, the Dabney is getting big, the Bubba is growing slow, I was told it grows slow, so I'm not worried it hasn't grown much.

Here are some pic's I took today of the Dabney Blue and Pre 98 Bubba Kush.

First pic (Dabney Blue). It's growing like a monster. I just topped it and put the cut into the clone dome. :thumbsup:

Second Pic is the Pre 98 Bubba Kush. It's starting to grow pretty good also, after it's slow start.

I think both are doing great under the flow's so, I'm going to keep them there for a while longer.

Here is the latest update pics.

The Dabney (First two pics), was top'ed 10- days ago its growing out nice.

The Bubba K (3rd and 4th pic) has started growing nice, and I cut the top today (5th pic, "CLONE") to put it in the dome.

Both are still under flow's. When I pull the Dabney clone out of the dome Tuesday, I'm going to put the "Mom's" (Dabney and Bubba) under 400 w HPS.

Well, my wife crashed the computer (I was not able to post for the past few weeks) so I bought her one for Christmas and now I'll be able to update the grow, the plants are MONSTERS and still in veg. I transplanted them into 5 gallon buckets and I'll switch them to flower this week, I'll post some pictures this week also.

Here are some recent pics. First two are the DB, and the third pic one of the BK. The forth pic is two DB's with the BK in the middle. I also added some Clone Pic's and then pics of my new set up, it's a little messy now, I just got started, the attic access shows the power cable for the 1,000w HPS and also the 6" exaust duct going into the attic, I have a damper above the access panel, so no hot or cold air comes back thru the attic. The other hole that is taped off at the attic panel is the 4" exaust hole for the Veg box that will be built this week. Not bad eh?

2 very good strains you got going i just finished my second round with them there very nice smoke if you never tried them. the dab is sweet just like blueberry muffin mix and the Bubba is just Dank goodness with a knockout punch

Yeah, I've heard great things about both of these, I like the story behind the Dabney. It's amazing what you can get from two little clones!

I'm going to keep both of these strains for years to come hopefully.....all I have is time to enjoy! My wife smoked all most all of the AK that I harvested already, which was a shitload of buds, you can see them on the "Pot shots" fourm.....so I need to get these monsters into flower soon. I started on my veg box today, should be done by the end of the weekend and then I can do both veg and flower in the same closet. Will be nice.

Ok, another update, these are getting big buds, I'm surprized at how big the Pre 98 Bubba Kush's buds are at this state. Useless was right about the "Rock hard" buds they get. The Dabney Blue's are getting shitloads of buds on them, and with at least a few weeks to go.....:icon_smil

This week they will be in the 6th week. I'm going to give the Kush maybe 3 more weeks. I'm going to chop two of the three Dabneys at 9 weeks also. I'll let the other Dabney go another week for the extra "Body" high.

JMO but i would suggest letting the Bubba and the Dabney go 9 weeks why put all the time and effort into growing such a beautiful plant just to cut it early.
if your cutting them because thats the type of buzz you want that's cool but if your looking to get plastered let them hit 9 weeks its worth the wait.
just to check last grow i had 2 cut of the Bubba i cut 1 at 8 weeks and 1 a little over 9 and it was a difference much more narcotic high and it was flushed better.:thumbsup:

Yea, I usually let my OG's and Bubba's run 63-77 days. Average is about 70. Same with the Dab. Let it go 9 weeks man....:thumbsup:

Yeah, I had edited my last post, I was thinking 8 weeks for some reason when I posted last, but I am going to cut them at 9 weeks and let one of the Dabneys go a extra week to try it out. I'm going to work on resizeing pics this week on my next up date.

If I may suggest, take pics during lights out, and use the flash. They look a lot better and you dont get that orange hue from the HPS. :thumbsup:

Yeah, I tried taking the pics with the lights out and all of them came out blury. I tried every setting on the camara.... I couldn't get one good pic and I couldn't take the plants out of where they were at to take the pics at the time. They are in a tight spot. I'm thinking the battery being low might of had something to do with it. I'll get new batterys and try again. I'll borrow a camara if I have to, I want to have at least some reall good close up pics to post when I chop them. Some of the last ones didn't come out to bad thou.

Ok, the plants are at 54 days of flower today, I've started Flushing the past three days, I'm on the countdown,

I'm thinking 10 more days, maybe a few more.......I'm getting the sticky finger itch...:thumbsup: I'll have some more pics at 56 days. Dabney buds are thick and big....smelling like blueberries bigtime.....I squeeze a bud and can't keep my fingers from my nose, man it's amazing. The Bubba is "DANK" smelling....Defanately the dankiest I've every smelled. Going to be a good one for sure.

First two pics here are the plants before cutting. Then some picturs of about 60 big buds. Then there are a couple of close up's. The last two pics are the rest of the smaller buds I still have to cut from the main plants (Which is a shit load...LOL)

I'm reposting the pictures of the Bubba Kush, so the picture showes up instead of the links. (Well I guess It didn't work????)

OK, So here is just a few things I learned on this fun filled grow.

Pre 98 Bubba Kush:

1. The Bubba's are slow growing in the very begining of veg stage. It caught up to the Dabneys once it started going.
2. They didn't need watering as much as the Dabneys.
3. The bubba leaves are big fat ass leaves, like a giants hands....LOL
4. Bubbas buds are thick and heavy. Smell is a dark dank smell, like the best stuff you ever smelled. (Smoke report comming soon....LOL)
5. Nice clones, took a little longer to root than the Dabneys. Had about 90% sucess rate.

Dabney Blue

1. Easy growing, used a little more water than the Bubba's. Grows out big in veg when you top them.
2, Easy to clone off of, Rooted fast, Had 100% sucess rate.
3. Big ass producer.....Fat Buds. Smell of Blue Berry big time. (Smoke Report comming soon...)

I've already switched more plants to flower when I cut these and the ones I just put in Flower are monster veged out plants.

I'm going to post some of the "Better" pics I have on the smokers Lounge and the smoke report here in a few days. I've got some more to cut in a couple of days. I should have at least 4 oz's a plant. I don't have a scale, but it's a good size harvest. I'm going to toke up the small buds I had drying under the lamp today, Should be a good sunny day..:thumbsup:

Here is my smoke reoport for this grow's bubba kush.

Total knock out, very high stone. Caution should be taken if you go out driving on this type of stone, I got lost in my own neighborhood.....LOL. Very good for pain, I was able to cut down on my pain meds during the day. Taste is earthy, Coffie tasting. If you do more than 2 hits, your toasted real good for a long time. I would put it at 9 out of 10 on every scale. Higest I've been probably ever.

Cut at 9 weeks and cured slowy...The Dabney is a taste and smell of Blue Berry's, very uplifting type of High, and a very stone High aslo.....this is the stuff that will get you up and going off the couch and feeling good and peppy doing stuff. You know when you get stoned and start cleaning your house.....LOL

I let some go longer 10 weeks and cured slow...and the High is twice as strong, man you can get HIGH as hell smoking more than a couple of hits and that cotton mouth will make your mouth like glue if you don't have something to drink after, it will creep up on you and BAM.....Gurilla Raido.....LOL

I will post some final cured bud pics this week also.
