I have a EZ-Clone machine which is perfect. I take the cuttings and in 4 days they all have roots. I need to find very small cups to move them to for 2 weeks while i veg them (then I flower after 2 weeks of veg). Can I use plastic DIXIE cups for this? or even if i cut holes in the bottom will they not 'release' moisture? Back in the day (i was using crap soil though) I would water the plants in dixie cups, and they would stay wet for EVER and never dry out, could of been the crappy soil (now i have a pro mix) but I just want to make sure it would be ok and I wont have any root rot/overwatering if I use dixie cups for 2 weeks while i veg my clones before putting them into flower.

why not? you basically just need something that will hold the soil and drain excess water. I grew a clone in a cup that was obviously from a drive thru coffee shop and just reused.

I figured it would have to be ok, but last time I used plastic cups the soil never dried out and it all turned to mud at the bottom, but that was also when I was a COMPLETE noob and had a bad soil mix

Dixie makes a lotta cups in a lotta sizes, but my gals do just fine in a 16oz size. But I also grow inna micro, and they're all drilled out for drainage, too. Which I highly recommend.;) In general here, after 2 weeks o' veg an' 8 more of flower in the same container, the rootball is firm but still easily crumbles, and looks healthy with some mild signs of bein' root-bound.
