What is your preference and why ?
I use flat white anti-bacterial filler paint. :D
I can honestly say i have never heard of "mylar",will do a google to find out what is so "great" about it,but any grower's out there that have tried and used both method's,what are the pro's and con's of both medium's,please.

From what I've read, mylar is something like 97% effective at reflecting light, flat white paint is 90% effective.
Mylar needs to be applied carefully and is more expensive than paint.
Then again, it can be applied while the growroom is in operation; paint can't. And mylar doesn't stink like paint.
I use thick plastic-like material that comes on a roll. It's ink black on one side and ultra white on the other.
one of my flower rooms is cement brick. I painted the room white and the boards on the windows are white also. I figured it was cheaper then mylaring the whole room.
I use mylar in another smaller room. I do not see a difference in size, weight, ect...... with one reflective material over the other.

I have used both, no significant difference in my opinion.

Rangers got the percentages right. Flat white cant get close to the reflective properties of mylar. It works a whole lot better when you can get the mylar closer to both the lights and the plants. Less distance the light travels the more light that hits the plants. Also dont get it around 120 volts as one of mylars stranger properties is that it conducts electricity.
There also only one thing I know more reflective than mylar and thats Baader Astro Solar Film. Its primary use is as a sun blocker for telescopes. You can guess its also a bit more expensive than mylar is.

Thank's for all the info guy's,it has helped me to put thing's in perspective.
With the conductivety thing,is there also a risk of fire if you don't install the mylar correctly, like say it happen's to fall on the deflector, say,is there a chance/risk of fire?
I did do a "google" on mylar and know what it is,personal opinion us i will stick to the paint!

Flat white paint == super easy. Mylar == hassle.
I really don't think that extra 7-8% reflectivity is worth the time, effort, and money involved with installing mylar. Obviously some people disagree. To each his own.
