Whats in your soil mix?

Organic Soil Mix

1 Bag - Garden Basic Potting soil - Wal-Mart
1/2 Bag - Garden Basic Organic Humus - Wal-Mart
1/2 Bag Texans Mushroom Compost - Wal-Mart
1/2 Bag Cow Manure - Wal-Mart
1 Bag Perlite
1 Bag Vermiculite
1 Bag Black Worm Castings

Then I add 1 cup of about 6 of the following ingredients
Bone Meal 6-12-0
Blood Meal 12-0-0
Cottonseed Meal 6-2-1
Dolomite
Glacial Rock Dust
Bat Guano 0-15-1
All Purpose Organic 4-4-4
Fish Bone Meal 4-22-1
Seabird Guano 12-12-2.5

All bags of soil are screened to remove large chunks, clay and other pieces.
I also reuse my soil after it has been cleaned & composted. I have used Guano during flowering and now use BC Hydro products with soil.

Here is a shot at some of my collection & other Items I use

Bogart I'm kinda in your boat a little. I generally use Black Gold soil to veg, but I have found that recycled BG soil works best for my final transplant to larger pots for flowering. Not sure why this is, but it does the best for me I have found. Maybe it's because I can control the ferts more easily that way.

my soil mix is rather simple but it is quite effective i use a soiless mixture that has no ferts i control my ferts thru what i add as the plant is growing.

2- parts peat
1- part perilite (sp)
1- part vermiculite
and a little dolomite lime to the mix and that is all.

I'm curious, i have been using Fox Farm Ocean Forest for a while now, but am sick of going to the hydro store all the time for bags of soil. I know sparky, and prolly alot more of you re-use your soil. my question is, how do you prepare or amend your soil for re-use. What do you put back into it?

Nesta I tend to use new soil as I start the plants out in veg. I don't amend the reused soil at all to be honest. I sift it and make sure I get all the old roots out and loosen the soil back up then add a little bit of dolomite lime to it and transplant the final time with that. Not sure why it's working for me, but it could be the metanatural ferts I am using. I don't really flush my soil at the end of flower either...just straight water from day 50 on to harvest. Then that soil is moved back into the next batch. I found that by amending my soil I started having too hot a blend for flower with a high N content. So went back to doing as I've come to do and things are back rockin again as you can see. I'm not the most scientific of growers to be honest....I grow by 'feel' if you will. Just have a nack for it I guess and grow by the seat of my pants really. Ask me for direct info and I'm afraid I can't provide it. :o

1 Block of Sunleaves Coco Coir
1 40Lb bag of Organic Garden Safe Humus
2 Bags of Perlite any brand I can find

Of course dolomite lime is added also, and everything is pH adjusted to 6.8:thumbsup:

I guess this would be a soil/ soilless mix... anyways it works well for me!

2 bags fox farm ocean blend(1.5 cuft per bag)
1 bag metro mix unferted medium(3cuft per bag)
1 bag fox farm extra chunky perlite(about 3 cfpb)
dolimite lime (about a handful to 1.5 cu ft)
this is great for seedlings and young plants, but once they are big enough to trans to permanent pot or whole, i mix all the above 60/40 with compost. also some espoma salts could be used with great success. i have tried all kinds of soil mixes, but this simple mix works frickin awsome.
