Light in yer' eyes...

Say, was curious...I along with many others here...utilize high pressure sodium and halide bulbs...small watts right up to 1k'ers...my question is this...how do you all protect yer' eyes when you are in the grow space...and do you wear sunglasses?...Or do you occasionally accidently look in to the light?...Is this harmful to the human eye over an extended time?...Curious minds need to be stoned!...DChad :smokin3:

daze you crack me up. (place rolling smilie here...) I use 1000w and don't wear protection. Maybe I should but have never had a problem. I don't ever really look at the bulb, its new . :D

i run around 3k in my room and have a pair of shades hanging on the door handle of the growroom to remind me to wear them, prolly worn the twice in around six months :eek:

We have a pair of what I like to call.....my co-cheese glasses.
They are like pilots glasses. I dont always wear them....only if I have to adjust the light or am going to be in there for an extended period of time. :thumbsup:

Most of us can avoid the " carol anne " and not look into the light. Other than that hids arent any brighter than the sun. Wearing shades while working on plants is ok for the more experienced but the newbie is going to miss alot of details growing plants with shades on.

Every time i go into my grow-room my :cool2: go on.
I had the misfortune of not wearing glasse's when i first got my grow chamber happening,felt like my eye-ball's had been washed !!!! :eek:

As a old oxy and stick welder,i would highly recommend eye protection as ya only got one set of eye's,it's not like ya can go down to the supermarket and get a "New" set off the shelf.

I use polarised lense as they let u see MORE and help to filter the light. :thumbsup:

At the end of the day it's ur own decision tho. :D

I also wear my glasses wilst in my grow. I look at it like you only have two, I have always had perfect vision, and I plan on keeping it. :cool2:
