Hello Friends, Did you think I would ride off in the sunset for good? For any that remember me I will be trying for another mega grow this year. I will growing 12 plants. 3 of them will be in the ground. 9 of them will be in plastic 55g barrels cut in half. Fox Farm Soil with 35% perlite. I am looking for 5lbs per plant in the ground. And 1.5 per plant in pots.

The clones that were donated to me are as follows.

3 C-99
2 Sour Desiel
2 White Widow
1 AK-47
1 Dogshit
1 AD
1 AD*
1 ?

I need some help here if you can find some time? The above clone list is what was written on the red cups. So I need some help with the names. What strain could AD be? And then the AD*? Is Dogshit a strain or just the grower name? I love the ?. I always love growing those.

I have a friend that will trade me some starts as well. I am in the pacific northwest so I may be trading some of these to better outdoor growing. Any strain tips would be really cool. I am petty sure WW does not so good outdoors here. SD should do well. Any mold info on ay of my strains I have?

Thanks Friends.

Alien Dawg
Afghan Delight

this is all that comes to mind but im sure there are a bunch of other strains with the initials "AD"

and yes Dogshit is the strain name so is Catpiss there are some wierd names out there like my Pure Kush Cut its known a Pure (pussy) Kush.

got some real nice strains if there the legit cuttings. the C99 is some nice smoke and i believe she has a low flower time, the Sour Desiel, White Widow, and AK-47 should do nice. and i think the Dogshit i believe is a fast flowering Indica.

Dogshit - there is a strain from MNS called dogshit, it is an Afghan x Skunk #1. There is also a clone only cut called Dogshit from the PNW, usually called PNW Dogshit. I heard this cut is a really good old school NL, but I could be way wrong on that. Just rumor.

C-99 will finish fast. Looks done by week 7, but I always took her to 8 weeks.
SD needs 70 days +
WW and AK - between 8-10 weeks, pheno dependent.

Good to see you around again 5150.

Not trying to step on toes here, but the MNS strain is called Shit. It is a cross between Skunk #1 (Afghan dom trait) X Skunk #1. It takes on the scent of the Skunk #1 Afghan dom trait's of smelling like shit. You can expect about 1 lb or so off these outdoors.

Dogshit is an entirely different strain, a more Indica dom(most likely Afghani) which resembles the smell of dog shit. It could very possibly be an earlier version of NL, such as the #1 or #2 which had the more Afghani traits and that nasty scent and taste. You can expect close ot a lb, over a lb might be stretchng it a bit, but can be possible.

C99, WW, AK, all speak for themselves and all can produce close to 2 lbs each fairly easily outdoors.

SD, depends on the cut, but a lb is reasonable, maybe 1.5 with no problems and if everything is optimal.

The AD is like Delta-9 said, IMO either Afghan Delight, or Alien Dawg(Chemdawg D X Alien Technology) If it is the Alien Dawg, you hit a jackpot, maybe not in yields, but in quality. It has a braod range of pehnotypes which can occur dependent on environment grown, being outdoors, look for a heavy berry scent and very heavy trichcome production.

No worries TL, I can do the Ethiopian Shim Sham Shuffle, so you ain't gonna step on any toes here. :lmao:

I think, and I could just be really high, that Shanti originally called "Shit" "Dogshit". I want to say it was shortened to shit between '00-'04. But then, my genetics memory base is pretty strained these days, so I could be totally wrong.

I agree, the descriptions of the PNW Dogshit and what I've been told and read, leans to an old NL #1 or #2. I've never grown it, so I leave it in the rumor category.

I should clarify about SD, I was referring to the ECSD clone.

Seems your an outdoors head TL, I'm an old hydro guy, so it's great to have input from the other side of the grow spectrum.

I actually grow indoors, and have for the past 13 yrs. I started, and still love growing outdoors, which I did my first solo grow in 1976.

You may be right, he may have changed several names after leaving GHSC.

That is why I stated "depends on the cut". ECSD being the true and original Sour D, however there are many BX's and outcrosses done over the last 10 yrs. All may have ECSD in their lines, but not all are the true line ECSD.

I like the forum here, and have been doing alot of reading, only placing input where I have vast experience, strains, and lineages are one of my strong points for I believe in knowing the lines that went into a cross, be it seed or cut, it gives us an idea of what to expect and how to optimize the grow.

Have you grown a 5lb. plant before?

Perhaps I am being rude by saying so, but color me doubtful. It seems like people tend to exaggerate a bit on the intrawebs.

I believe in knowing the lines that went into a cross, be it seed or cut, it gives us an idea of what to expect and how to optimize the grow.

Again, undoubtedly I am overstepping my boundaries as a noob with exactly two grows under his belt, but I can't help but think way too much emphasis is placed on this and that lineage and something something being the "true" cut of whatever, etc, etc...ad nauseum. It seems to me that anything from an experienced breeder is going to be good, because they have smoked it themselves. Sure, some varieties will do better or worse outdoors, or have other traits, but this emphasis on lineage smacks of genetic purity and the reality, as I see it, is these things have been crossed jillions of times with each other, and all these different sativa/indica hybrids vary considerably within each strain and don't vary between strains as much as people like to think (just like people).

Again, not meaning to offend. That's just the way I see it.

Not to offend, but you could not be more wrong, honestly. I have grown land races in 4 different countries, and from 8 or 9 different countries, I have grown in several very different climates within the US. Seeds form the exact same strain, be it hybrid or land race will have variance and differences in nute uptakes, water regime, and can have different impacts form environmental aspects as well. Honestly, I strain that has been crossed "jillions of times" is more likely to have even more variance.

In knowing what strain goes into the hybrid, we can better understand the variances, and better understand what the plant needs and how it will react to various environmental factors. After breeding for about 30 yr now, I would never just chuck any pollen form any male or use any female without knowing the exact lines which went into it, or at the very least, the origin of the lines.

Knowing the lineages may be not be your reality for you just want grow a ploant without understanding anything about it, but for thos eof us who breed, and work to improve and preserve various lines of the species we want to know what is in our gardens. The difference between growing weeds and growing fine cannabis. To me, if a person is not interested in lineages of various hybrids, they may as well just grow bag seeds.

As for variance among strains, "don't vary between strains as much as people like to think (just like people)", yes they do, and even more so. I have grown Skunk #1 from the 3 main breeders since 1976, I now have isolated and preserved 8 very different phenotypes, all from the exact same strain, I have 6 very different versions of Northern Lights, again, some from the exact source, others from ealry retail stock from the early 80's. They do vary mostly among strain, and although there alot of a strains which have the same make up, but have been given different names, there are just as many that are completely different from each other.

After growing well over 50 strains, probably closer to 100, working and selectively breeding 10 of my own original strains, and growing outdoors, indoors, and/or both for close to 35 yrs, I have come to realize when growing cannabis, anythiung is possible, even form the same strain, mutants, very unique and rare phenotypes, triploids, etc.... So you can make your own decision, after getting 2 grows under your belt, you can continue to learn and evolve to becoming a great grower, or you can think you have it all figured out and just be another decent, or avg grower. That is the biggest problem I see in thiese newer growers, they have read more books than grown plants, and have little if any hands on experience with alot of different strains. I presently have 6 strains going right now, and a collection of well over 80 different strains, not counting various stages of my own creations.

I agree completely with Thailord Hank. You have a lot to learn my friend. Once you obtain truly elite genetics you will never want to give them up.

As far as your strains 5150, I would keep a close eye on the White widow for botritis and mold late in flower. There are so many different white widows though that it is hard to say for sure which one you have. My experience is with the Dutch passion line. Also Ak47 of serious lineage has to be watched as well. They both produce well, but I have found the AK in particular one of the fastest strains out there that you can build a tolerance to.

i agree with TL i want to or do no the Lineage of most of my strains, and i no even more from reading into different strains. for someone like you Hank genetics do not matter you can grow bagseed and be happy as long as the smoke is good. witch lets face it you can find some killer pheno's from seeds you get from brick weed. but when it comes down to breeding, knowing what the parent plant's like, what its medical benifits could be, what high it will be, ect. just by knowing the lineage it can give you enough info on most aspects of growing that strain, indoors you can get an idea on how big to grow the plant's, even how to grow the plant like either in hydro/soil ect., how much food they might like, whether to top it, S.O.G the plants ect. so it does help knowing your genetics. but again someone like you dont care your just happy to be getting good smoke from whatever seeds you are using.
there's allot of growers will go out of there way growing out certain strains just for seeds so they can preserve the genetics plants like Haze's with 22 week flower times. and all kinds of Thai's, S.A. ect. all the crazy Sativa Landrace,s.

Yeah, that was my point. There is very little consistency even within one strain, so how can you talk about a "true cut"? Well, if it's a cut/clone dna will be the same, but from seed the results you will get are wildly inconsistent, so how can people talk about different lineages when hybrid strains don't breed true? You might have a certain % of the pheno you like show up, but that's not really a "true" breed in my book.

It really seems to me people are over focused on holding "true", "pure" strains dna wise, but there is no such thing as pure or true in nature and cannabis seems particularly varied, even though its been worked with for a long time.

I knew I'd raise few hackles with that one, but I think its an interesting subject and I'm starved for conversation. Really.

:rasta2:

And, I didn't take offense, but my 2 grows, or no grows doesn't prohibit me from understanding what happens/has happened when people breed pot. All the info is out there.

Edit: someone like you

Although, to be honest, I don't care for this bit. I am bringing up a point of interest to me respectfully and sincerely. I don't think ad hominem attacks are really in order.

Actually, I did mention that point.

Well, if it's a cut/clone dna will be the same, but from seed the results you will get are wildly inconsistent,

Yes, talking about clones is one thing and talking about seeds is something else. I was kinda mixing them up a bit before. Sorry. Since cuts are genetically identical to the mother plant and can be continued on indefinitely, it's totally correct to speak of a "true" cut, although the obsession people have with them strikes me as odd. Just my opinion, but it seems to me that when you get into the high quality genetics put out by trusted, experienced breeders then pretty much everything is going to be good.

A: Here, try this pre-2005 original cut Monkey Butt Kush.

B: Wow, that's good. Here, try this Coleslaw Haze pink pheno.

A: Wow, that's good, too.

Anyways, if there are tons of different phenos within one variety, what defines it as a variety in itself?

For example, Variety A could have

65% pheno A
15% pheno B
10% pheno C
7% pheno D
1.5% pheno E
1.5% pheno F

If all the phenos were known and appeared in predictable amounts then would that make it definitely variety A?

Thanks for all the info friends. I will be trading the white widow and the other high molds strains for some other stuff. I learned my lesson last year that fir me and my area low mold strains are the number one factor.

Yes I have grew a 5lb plants. I have a thread here called http://www.420genetics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5483 They were not 5lbs but dam close. If they were not planted so close and up to a fence 5lbs could have been done easy.

I was not able to gets the same results last year. We had the worse summer in ages. I was able to pull 1lb each from the plants in the ground. I planted all in the ground last year.

Maybe I can get them big this year with some good weather. Oregon is iffy when it come to sunshine. In this huge grow it was 90 all summer long.

I have followed 5150's grows on other forums, and he does grow some beautiful trees. I know he has come close to 5 lbs. I myself have done 5, my present outdoor record being just over 6 lbs off some Pluton 2 SSSC strains. So I know it can be done, and I know you can get even more. Tom Hill, one of the best outdoor growers I know, has done 10 lbs off one plant and presently holds the record as far as I know.

Never doubt the true potential of cannabis. I have done over 2 lbs off indoor plants when doing verticle tree grows, and I know Earl and Heath have done 5 lb plants indoors using vert as well. So I never ever doubt the potential of a grower or a cannabis plant.

And for the record. It is good to know everything you can research on any strain you grow, elite or not, for it gives you the best knowledge to opitmize your grow and get the best results possible for what you have to work with. I will debate this to the end with anyone, for those who know their genetics always seem to do the best grows IMHO.

FYI: True breeding is a strain which grows true in traits and characteristics. Phenotypes are where the variance we see is. Very few true breeding strains will be much different in trait, but will show alot of variance in phenotype due to phenotypes are not solely based on genetics. Genotype is only 50% dependent on phenotypes, th eother 50% is environment, which is where I think you are confused. A variance in phenotype does not mean a strain is not true breeding, for the triats and characteristics is shows are the uniform and pretty much genetically the same. People often confuse phenotype for genotype. So it is a simple mistake most make. A strain can grow consistent and show little variance in genotype, but still may have a broad variance in phenotype b/c it is not solely dependent on the genetic make up. We even see phenotype variance in cuts, this is due to environmental changes from how the mother plant was grown and kept, vs another grower's environment in the grow area. Even slight differences in light, temps, and humidity can cause some variance in phenotype.

Hank, many often find me arrogant, but it is not my way at all. I leave arrogance & being disrespectful to growers and hobby breeders for people like Rez, Swerve, etc.... I'm here to continue to learn, and to share my knowledge and experience for others. I'm not one of those guys who feel like b/c I have grown for a very big part of my life, that I know everything, and do not look down on those who do not have much experience, for myself was a beginner at one time as well.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will do my best to answer it for you, or if I can't, send you to one who can.

Sorry 5150, not trying to take over your thread, just trying to help others gain more understanding of cannabis cultivation.

Well got a very good start. Here is some pics. I will start a thread but just real busy these days.

The ones in the ground are catching up fast. Soil temps are fine now. I got 5 or 6 weeks of veg left. Hoping for the best.

I used 3 bags FFOF soil with 35% perlite per pot. FF Grow Big is the only ferts I use. I PH my water before watering the plants. I let plants go to almost dropping before each watering. I then flood the plant so about 1/2 gallon to a gallon comes out of the bottom of the pot. I beleave the roots grow better this way searching out water. and also flush out salts and what not each watering. Pretty basic as you can get.

The last pic show the growth of 3 weeks.

Only set back is a brought home a recue 6 month old lab puppy. He dug one side out of a potted plant. Just dirt though. So far no magor damage. Errrr Puppies

Thanks Friends.

Well getting some really good growth now. I still have about 5 weeks veg before the stretch starts. If all goes well I should have a good crop.

Potted plants need water daily on hot days with 30% perlite. The one's in the ground are catching up fast. I will be trimming out some of the lower branches off as well. Some are in the dirtand laying on the pavement when raining. I learned last year just better to cut them off and keep air under the plant.

Also some of these strains have week branching. I will have to net them up for sure. Anyway here is some pics. I should do well this year. (praying for no mold) Thats a 32 gallon trash can for size.

Also got a city tree trimming crue working on my block. Sucks for I know they will be working around my house, About a 50% chance they will see them. Oh well, Not really worried about rippers for I sleep with my plants. Just worried about getting robbed for them. My back yard is rigged to a T. If anyone is back there I will know. It's guns that worry me.

Not sure of the spelling but there are called Arbovidas. Yep about 20 feet tall plus. They even block out the street lamp lights.

You can but to plant at about 8" or 10". They grow about a foot a year until about 20 feet or so. I got lucky for the sun travels right over my back yard.

Got a new camera. So took some night pics. Really happy with the potted plants. Suckers are really putting on the growth. I added a 6 foot latter for size. My bushy potted plants are pretty cool.

The plants with the ladder next to it are all White Widow. The potted bushy plants are sour desiel, AK-47 and Afgan Delight.

The ones in the ground are (starting from closest to veggy garden}

Hey cuz ur plants are looking great! But I'm just a little confused by wat u mean when u say ur plant is sticking up at night?
Shake it easy
MCF:blaze:

The night before they need water. All my plants will stick there leafs up at night. I always let the plant droop before I water. So it is like the plant will not sleep for it knows it needs water. So the roots are seeking and searching for water and not sleeping.

I have no facts for this. Just what I think is going on. When a plant stick it leafs up at night. It will always need water the next day. After I water the next night the leafs will droop/sleep like the my other plants are.

Trip but it true. They always stick up at night right before they need water.

Notice the plant next to it. It is sleeping. The night before it needs water it will also stick up.

My dog snapped a branch clean off today. No fixing this one. I put a stake in the ground and pull another branch over it the spot. Dog is now hiding under the van. He knew he was busted as soon as I picked it up. Couple good swats with the branch and he is hiding now. Also got my camper van parked next to my plants. Has power and even a TV and fridge. Sure beats a tent

Got on my roof and took a few pics.

All your girls, even the other flowers & vegie varieties in your garden are vibrant, lush and deliciously green & healthy. Makes a world of difference when you have good sun for the ladies, and being so accessable and easy to tend to also is a great bennifit. :icon_smil

I never did any topping or anything. In the past I got 1.5lbs off the potted plants. This year they are much bigger so hoping for 2lbs per pot. In the growun it is to soon to guess right now.

I notice with my not watering until the plant droops method some plants will stick up there leafs the night before it needs water. I will water this plant tomorrow moring or afternoon. The same night it gets water they will sleep like the others next to it are.

I think the roots know they are about out of water and are busy looking for water not letting the plant sleep.

Okay I am stoned for sure. But why else would a plant stick it leafs up in pitch black everytimes it needs water the next day?

I bring a yard or cow manure into my yard during flower time. I give some to my neighbors as well. After harvest I dump it into my veggie garden.

Delta-9
08-23-2011, 03:08 PM
is the manure really that smelly were it puts off the weed smell, or does it just help to mask it a bit??
in Oregon i imagine there are quit a few back yard grows going on in your city/town.
there must be a good amount of people rocking there yard with plants like yours. maybe not as nice but people are out there blowing up there backyards.
for all you no there could be a few others in your nieborhood, and im sure you got the people who trek into the woods to plant big guerilla grows.
then the Mexican Mafia have been taking over in the pacific north west. the DEA said 10 years ago the average plots they would find would be up to a few hundred plants. now there finding plots with over 50,000 plants huge setups and there destroying the land with garbage, and chemical ferts that are not even allowed here in the U.S. guess they figure why smuggle it into the States from Mexico when you can just grow it here and easily distribute is all over the country with ease.
these people need to be shutdown and dismantled!!

Made my cage todat around the plants in the ground. No measurments jst went with the flow. I have a 6x115 trillis netting I will wrape the outsode of the cage with. Then some between each plant and down the top fully caging the plants for fall. I expect all the plants to grow into the nets pretty good. This will lock them in losing little braches in storms. I just hope I did not cage to soon and have the plants outgrow this cage. In 2009 that was the case. Not sure how much more stretch this will have. But there stretching pretty good right now.

A friend od a friend where I got my clones from is back in towm. When I got my clones they just had letters on the cups. So today I was able to find out what the AD on my cups were. I just thouht it was Afgan delight. But it is a strained called American Dream.

I will find out more about this girl today as I do some reading.

The dogshit strain is a local PAC NW strain. The only problem is my backyard is full of of dogshit. LOL If PAC NW strain she has not even showed pistals yet.

Pineapple DogShit,it is an Oregon cut,its Pineaple Punch x Chemdog F4.

Its clone only.

Sensi Seeds - American Dream

The American Dream: everyone wants it, here`s your chance. One of the newest cannabis varieties from us at the Sensi Seed Bank. Fast flowering, with high yields of heavy dense buds from a large centralized cola with minimal side branching making an excellent strain for cash cropping in the S.O.G. method. American Dream flowers in as little as 7 weeks with a frosted and glazed appearance from heavy amounts of thick resin that has a sweet and fruity aroma. It has a fruity acrid hash taste with a warm and relaxing physical body sensation and a slightly cerebral buzz.

Flowering: 45-50 days

Well now that I have some buds to show. I thought I would post some up. Been in full flower for about 1.5 weeks on most strains in the pots.

Like I said my new friend who has been at this for a awhile is going to hook me up with some orig. seed for my next run, he just wants one clone of ea, he is a "one off" type, only believes in cloning a plant once to keep all the orig. traits the same. He has probably has like 50 orig strain seeds from over the years of his grows.
So in oregon do you need a caregivers lic. for so many babies??
In Cali we can only have up to 6 in flower 6 in veg, to have more in one spot you would need a garegivers lic. and a copy of all your patient stat recs.. Boy would be sweet to get rid of my lawn grass and replace it with the goods.....5150 keep up the awesome work, keep me advised on the grow, may have to venture north,,,:blaze:

Hey bro looking great and more beautifull everyday!
Tell me wat are the cages and nets actually for? Looks like a scrog almost!
And after all the plants get caged is it not hard to feed em? Last question do you leave the sucker branches or do you clean up the thin spindly branches and sucker leaves?

Good job I'm glued to your thread!
MCF:blaze:

The cages are to stop the wind from breaking branches off. Also just under the own bud weight they can snap. I do not totaly enclose my cover so wind does come in. Also live close to a gorge so I get blasted with wind bad.

I thin some suckers out. I never thin any leafs unless they touch the ground when the plant is wet.

I have a large PVC pipe I stcik in the plant. Then just water down the pvc pipe.

Not sure if the vids said I used about 30% perlite in the mix. I like great drain and oxygen to the roots. Also when they get big like this in pots they drink lots of water with 30% perlite mix. Pots need water daily and some times twice daily. The WW are the chuggers. They can drink 5g a day easy at this point and 90 deg plus heat.

Also what to add the weather has been outstanding for this intire grow. I could not ask for more hot sunshine days. About 3 months solid sunshine for the most part. 80 plus.

Time for some bud shots.

Forrest fires near by so getting lots of ash falling on my plants. Had the leaf blower out yesterday. Not really that bad today. But thats what you see on the leafs in spots. The fires are far away but the wind most have carried ash about 50 miles or so.

Okay the rain is on the way so I started my cover. My work was tossing out these plastic curtians things that hang in warehouse doors. I got about 75 of them. I am using these for I need a few doors to get to my plants. With my patio roof I am cramped on the front side of the cover some. This is why you see two doors. The back side of the cover will be open for the trees stop all the rain and I like the air flow. But I needed doors on the front side. They are thick heavy plastic rubber type. I will make a loop on the bottom of them and slide a board thru for to stop from flapping in the wind. The shorter door will not matter for the door is far from the plants. Also my dogs need to get thru as well.

Anyway here is the start of my project and some bud shots.

Enjoy.

Also from my works dumpster. These little metal clamps things work great to hold wood to metal poles. A guy could use plumber metal strips as well. (not sure what they call them) This method locks the wood soild. In the past I drilled holes on each side of the pole and used bailing wire. This was is much better and faster.

This update shows how I will get around that little plant. Also how low the plastic will go on the side. Also used some slates to hold the door rubber. The tape is the hinge. LOL

I got my cover on today. It's just laying on now. I still have to skin it tight. But this will give you an idea how it wll look.

This is 20x65 sheet of plastic once I cut it off th 20x100 roll. The boards on the one roof will be taken down. They make it worse for more spots to puddle. On the front side of the cover it will go down low to the ground. The other side will be open for no rain comes thru the trees. This way it not locked in air with good airflow but 100% dry.

Some pics. Smells good under the cover.

Okay this is what I came up with. Was raining so I will go back when it is dry and re tape it all. I still need to make a lean too to cover the plant sticking out the side.

Oregon fall is nothing but rain. Almost have to cover in my area.

Update. The other American Dream will come down this week. It's got me off gaurd at 49days. Going to flush it real good this week. I gave the other AD from the empty pot to my bro for watching the front of my house untill harvest is over. The AD finished to half amber in 49 days flower time.

Here is how I covered that plant sticking out the side of the carport.

New update. Been about a week so getting much fatter now. Some mold spots here and there but nothing bad if I catch it early. The american dream had mold attack all the main colas on both plants. I gave one to my bro and harvested the tops off the other. Both SD's are showing spotty dry mold as well. The only strains I have right now that has not showed any mold is the C-99and the Dogshit. The C-99 is almost done as well. (closeup below)

3rd year in a row that have had little yellow leafs from the plants in the ground.

looking good they look almost ready so what do you think your total yield will be? you should do a guess the total weight contest!
i was wondering i noticed some outdoor bud is a nice green, smells awesome, and super frosty. usually i get it and its either dark green or sometimes its a little brown/yellow and has almost no taste just a little sweetness to it. does growing them in the buckets and flowering in basically a green house create a way better end product then plants grown in the ground outside??
im in a bad climate for outdoors we can pull off 1/4 -1/2lb. plants but we have to depend on mother nature to do its job we get lots of mold and other problems. i wish i could just pop up a nice green house i would blow it up. but that is just to bold for my state.
