I was curious if there was any major pro's or con's when deciding on growing on the first floor or second floor.

I would perfer a house w/ 2 rooms on 2nd floor, 1 on 1st, which is typical in my area. So I would perfer to have my grow room on the 2nd floor. With just my room/grow room upstairs, I can reduce any unwanted traffic from the area, or even knowing its there. Also I feel more secure w/ using the window as a venting/fresh air source.

I wasnt sure if there would be an increase in heat build up, or more noticable thermal note (im just about at 2k all in all, shouldnt be an issue, but still), or if perhaps 1st floor would reduce that more?

Ideas? Thoughts? Thanks in Advance

The deeper you are in your building the safer you will be. Thermal imaging is a mofo.

also if you don't have a drain or water up there I would think it would suck carrying it up and down the stairs :D

IMO I would go upstairs with it, mainly because of the foot traffic. Even if you have to lug plants and water up stairs.

i dont have a water supply near my grow tent so i always have to lug water to and fro from my tent but i hand feed and its a small setup if ya got big rezzies id go for the space closest and most conveniant to work in also lower floor always tends to be cooler but if you have an ac that shouldnt be an issue:thumbsup: we dont have no thermal imaging here well atleast i don't think so lol i live in a bananna republic our cops couldnt find their own asholes if some one pointed it out to em!

The only issues im particually worried about is the temps on the 2nd floor. I will have central A/C and most likly a portable A/C as well. Its more a power usuage trying to keep it cool issue, will being on the 2nd floor be like 2degrees hotter, or 10+.

Water access and work space would be excatly the same upstairs or downstairs. Just trying to weight the heat diffrence w. the security diffrence

Im buying a house, and this is a $15k decision, so sorry if Im running in circles...

Im thinking going w. original plan, and go 2 story house...

Thanks all..

if you have an A/C going it will not matter that the upstairs is usually a bit warmer so heat should not be an issue.
if you have upstairs water acsess then take advatage of the upstairs space and it would be more secure im not sure of the lay out but if its a house with a upstairs and downstairs you could build a nice heavy door at the top of the steps if its a 2 family with 2 apartment then just get strong door's, hinge's, and good deadbolts. also like solo said if you keep it upstairs no one will no whats up as long as you have proper filtration. ideally you want your room to have a negative pressure. hope your plans all work out sounds like you are going to be setting up some nice rooms. hope you can get your hands on some good seeds or even better a cutting if your in a Med state i think some do sell cuts but you have to no the dispencary and the people there in order to truly no the cut you just bougth is a legit clone only strain.
