Banner Competition
Our first Competition is up, I'm looking for a Banner 468x60 to be used at the Top of the Forum. You may submit up to 5 banners per member. This contest will run till the end of April. Then I will pick the best 10 and have a poll for the members to vote. Winner gets a pack of Soma's NYCD F2's by annaC containing 12 seeds. You may post them on this thread at any time. Actually it's just a trial program...Bannershop GIF Animator 5, downloaded it for free on the net...only a 30 day trial :(

So DUJ.....I went and downloaded somethin similar.
5 minutes later I was lookin for a 2x4 to beat the piss outta my laptop.
I have no patience.....you have the touch.

It's pretty fustrating for me too...I was trying something different, to put 2 spinning MJ plants on either side...but when the animation came on, it blinked in the middle also...Arghhhh!!! I just closed the program, and haven't opened it since..LOL

I like that one Indi....looks great..if the program I have does still banners, I haven't found a way to do them yet..LOL I like em much better like that :)

This is the same Banner as the first I submitted, but I added a little animation to it. I have it set to NOT loop, but that is easily edited. As it is now the animation starts once the image is loaded into RAM, then stops on the last frame without repeating the animation.

This is my first attempt. I havent figured out how to get it animated....I tried with the program and it says it is. I dunno....any suggestions....cuz it looks a whole lot cooler when its animated.

Admin, what formats are you allowing? I can do a flash sample (swish, actually), but I have to figure out how to load for all to see without compromising my personal info. I can do the animated gif.... but for file size & page load times- I'd stick with a swish or flash animation for pizzaz. Let me know, cause I'm definitely down for free beans!

set your clocks year to 2010 and install 30 day trails and u will get the program until 2010 or whatever year u set it to in most cases when u set your clock back tothe real date

*edit- Indi- if you used a gif animator to make that, you did one heck of a job..... I can't see animation from my w/s (firewall is locked down), but I happened to look from a remote location and all I can say is WOW! Nice job.

I am not sure who created the current banner being displayed...whoever did though...fine job...and it gets my vote...it really is a fitting banner...with the thc resin glands in the background...I have a bit of a relationship with those glands...I bet a few of you here do too... :icon_smil ....but I digress...thc is also the acronym of my bands name..."The Hangin' Chads"...currently in the studio recording our debut release..."I Wanna Be Selected"...due out in the fall of 2006...hey...what can I say...good music is like good wine...it is not served before its time...blend'DC' ;)

Thought I would post a few more I did a couple days ago.

Yeah, I made that with Photoshop and ImageReady. It takes more time than those free software programs that make quick animated gif's, but doing it from scratch gives more power in all aspects of the images.
I can make more of those kinds of banners, but I'm thinking the site needs artwork incorporated into the background, like an image that is the background and logo.
I've done that sort of thing before, but it takes more work.
