not sure on the cheapest way! you can pay good money for a bag fox farms Ocean Forrest witch works great just pricey but by flower you will have to add either more organic nutes to spread on top of the soil and water it in. or just get a bloom nutrient and mix it with water and feed that way.
or you can get a few Bails of soiless mix its fairly cheap for the quantity you get just has no nutes so you have to mix in some organic nutes. and i am not sure if it is cheaper to mix it yourself or to buy pre-mixed bags. it seems cheaper making your own mix but to be sure i would need to get the same amount of both and figure out the price's.
also if you are gonna dig holes to put pots in i would get rid of the pots dig a good sized hole and add soil and amendments the pot would just restrict root growth. also Coco coir is very very cheap you could mix it 50/50 with worm casting and some guano's i hear it lets lots of air to the roots witch is a very good thing

thanks delta. After talkin with my friend, he recccommended doin a "bubble bag" aka putting an air filter and pretty much straight hydroponics. I noticed he had this huuge canister layin in his backyard that was the size of a barrel/trashcan, and at the bottom there were like these three metal insert things with gaps in em', kinda like a sewer drain has gaps. Then on the outside it looked like it had a long cord running all the way from the outside into the inside of the bucket. I asked him about it and he said it was something for a fish tank or somethin?? idk. But anyway I think we're gonna use this now. I figure we can cut the cannister in half so its not so unnecessarily huge, and somehow raise those metal inserts halfway up and kinda let em float there, being attached to the sides/contour of the cannister thing. It would be totally bomb if whatever that thing that runs the length of the cannister was in fact a filter and worked, but its been layin in his backyard for god knows how long. My questions are..being that he already has the seeds, what all will I need? I've looked online about the whole bubble bag thing and it seems a lot of people use like clay balls with pourous holes to hold in the water, and pretty much just sit the plant in there?? It just seems the plant would die from too much water. Also, I will obviously need to get a new filter, and I guess a couple of those little rock stone things they put in fish tanks on the end to get the oxygen to come out. I've also noticed lots of people cover the tops so it's complete darkness for the veg, but what happens when they grow through the top of the holes. I am on a very strict budget and reaalllly wanna get this thing going as its my biggest fantasy, so I was hopin you and others could give me some input on my cheapest route of doing this. btw, my friend didn't really go for the outdoor idea since he was worried about pests, animals, etc... plus being december, I dont think we could really start it until around February. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

yet another concern I have about the outdoor grow..which forgive me b/c im repeating myself, but do you think I'd hafta wait til literally february to pot em down in the farrrr farr south east. I mean it gets cold out at night, like tonight....its not bad, like now on the weather report it says its 70..and its almost 2am..but theres nights it gets pretty chilly, and im worried that obviously its gonna freeze the plants especially if im jus rootin em and theyre not strong enough. The problem is the $. my buddy has the beans, but we need to buy the light (most expensive) if we're gonna do indoor...which id much rather do outdoor obviously...i just feel like outdoor bud is SOOO much better in EVERY single way..potency, overall quality, everything. what do u guys recommend:animbong:?
