Anyone who has followed my posts here may remember that 2 months ago an aquaintence got busted (nothing to do with pot). I was asked to take his dog and cat to the pound and was given his plants (he will likely be locked up for a long time).
I took the dog to the pound (I couldn't bring it home because it had real bad mange and I didn't want my dog to catch it) but I adopted the cat, and the plants.
Most of the time during the last 15 years I have grown from clones. The last time I saw pollen sacs on a plant was in '00.
So I was surprized this a.m. when I saw the dreaded balls on one of the plants he gave me. I had just assumed all his plants were from clones. But not this one (it was labeled Trainwreck).
I carefully inspect my plants every few days (looking for bugs and stuff) and good thing I did. The male was immediently yanked up and disposed of.

Anyway, a heads up to outdoor growers--plants are beginning to flower. Last week I noticed 5 of MY female clones are beginning to bud.
So check your plants carefully and frequently starting now.

One of my two is on ball watch. The big one has female genetalia so all is well for her, but the other has not shown ,and I fear it could be balls for it. I will most likely go look again tonight. Plus I made some homemade habenero pepper spray for them to keep bugs off em.

SFC--
It's not a good idea to spray buds with insecticide. It will make the buds taste nasty.
It's ok to use when the buds are just beginning to form, or on the leaves only.
Another advantage of that chili/garlic spray is it protects against deer and basicaly anything that might want to eat your plants.

By insecticide do you mean homemade pepper spray? Because that is the only insecticide I am using, mixed with a little soap anyway. Mine have no actual buds yet, just hairs, She's getting ready.
