I've pretty much identified pit in my lil girl, but it's the other part I can't figure out. Ah well...she has most of the pit traits anyway. She's one tough lil hombre' I tell ya. This dog knows no fear of any kind. Even took on a minivan once and walked away. ;)

Herb.....The one with the spots on its tounge looks like a chow mix.

LMAO! She's an akita Ayakulik. They are distantly related to chows, but an entire breed apart. ;)

Tiberon
03-21-2005, 08:24 PM
An Akita....coulda fooled me.
I though this is what an akita looked like
http://students.washington.edu/adamsb2/images/akita.jpg

The only reason I thought it was a chow was my friend has one and it has those black spots all over its tounge.

Sparky
03-22-2005, 02:03 AM
Yes that's an akita too. And chows do have the black tongues as akitas sometimes do. Somewhere way back they have simliar ancestors. There are many color variations to the akitas as well as an American and Japanese variety. The Americans being bigger dogs altogether.

Think my girl was a runt. She has weak haunches which I know is not what they look for in breeding stock. Sad to say many people just let the poor things wander on their own around the streets to fend for themselves and die. Fortunately akitas are VERY resourceful dogs. Even as a pup Jayda used her smarts to survive. They caught her living under a house eating bugs and anything else she could scanvange. She's still that way to this day matter of fact. That dog can find old deer bones or anything else buried deep. If it's there she'll find it. They have an amazing sense of smell. It's said that of any breed of dog the akita would survive if left up in the mountains alone with no way back home. They adapt well and are excellent survivors. They are tough animals too. Seen mine in a fight a time or two and she kicked ass, but she's the most docile thing at any other time. It's like a a switch...on/off....just that fast, but only with other dogs that are picking on her buddies. Matter of fact she's very submissive and is at the lower end of the pack line. But she don't take shit when someone she loves is being hurt I'll tell ya. She may have a weak ass, but damn is she strong up front because of it. She's all chest and comes in at 100 lbs. Cool ass dog from the pound that someone didn't think was good enough.

Yeah...I love my dogs :D

He's a "Kelpie",they are predominately used over here for sheep-dog's,very smart fucker's,and they can be used for cattle work, but ya can't go back to sheep if ya put 'em onto the cattle, they tear the arse out of the sheep, coz the sheep don't move quick enough for them ! ;)

Herbman
05-17-2005, 12:45 PM
Right now Storm we have about 48 eggs that are gonna hatch. We are expecting the first 18 to hatch around June 15. I will have to see the babies first before I can figure out the prices. They will most likely be anywhere from 40-100 dollars a piece. The more colorful ones will be more expensive. I paid 140 dollars for the bearded dragon in the picture. They are very easygoing lizards. They won't bite, the only thing they do for defense is pop that beard out and make themselves look big.. :smoke2:

Storm
05-17-2005, 01:52 PM
That's so cool! i'd probably want a colored one. I feel like a kid i'm so excited.

Erm, about biting...are you sure? my partner would freak if he was aggressive.
"But look at how cute he is" i see myself saying, who wouldn't love a face like that? :D

Thanks Herbman :)

Herbman
05-17-2005, 05:11 PM
Yeah Storm they won't bite. I've owned many and none have ever biten or even tried. If you think he is cute, wait until you see the pics of the babies. We mated that orange boy in the picture with a bright red female so they're gonna be very colorful....I'll be talking to ya Storm

Herbman, I know this post is seriouslly late as fuck but still got any of them babies around? I had some anoles a long time ago, those things were REALLY little but fun to watch. I've always been a big dragon/lizard freak. Love em!! Let me know if, we can discuss some arangments. I know them babies in the pic probably aren't babies anymore but maybe a new batch is coming sometime? That'd kick ass to watch em grow up and see how the colors change and intensify.
