Back to business:

The bin is now pooped full
The worms had some nice feeding in the fist place after the restart and I've continuously topped with shredded paper, and cardboard - even better. All has been moistened with a sprayer. A few old tea leaves, fresh droppings and Algomin from Migro, thanks man!
Nothing further except maybe some more droppings are added, if needed. Now we'll sit back and watch the slomo worm-vortex. I hope the vermicompost will be ready in 4 - 6 weeks, maybe even earlier if the damned topinambur (top right) has finally stopped sprouting

I really have to get me one of those bins. You are going to end up with some top notch soil conditioner/fertilizer after a few months I am sure, especially if you give it the old tea treatment on top to get the life flowing. Great job m8!

As you can see it, omfg! The worms are pretty much on it after two days already. I had to muck them pigs out this morning and I couldn't resist to feed that droppings directly. Not pictured. I didn't want to interfere, but by documenting it with my camera, I first get the impression about the speed of it. I have to add that my worms are in top condition and eager to munch away shit and wipe with cardboard.

Now, about a month later, I decided to start taking out the compost. I washed all worms carefully off the lid and scared them down in the bin with a bright lamp. Only very few leftovers that were sifted to the upper part of the bin. Avocado skins, some woodchips and pine tree needles from the pigs. I found lots of worm cocoons and predator mites. I used flushed coco and the wormcompost 1 : 10 this time without adding anything, Vermiculite and Perlite weren't necessary as they were already recycled from earlier grows and in the vermicompost.

Remember my white awful pants? The rubberband and a few nylon strings was all the worms have left.

I'll take out more and more vermicompost in the near future and am transferring most of the worms to my new 50 L bin, while I plan to raise more little ones from the cocoons in the current 25 L bucket.
