Default Let em starve or feed em till the chop.... you decide 420genetics

last grow i fed till the end, but wasn't using organics. This grow i am all organic. Here is the question... during the last two weeks of flower, do you flush( starve) or do you feed till the chop?

Let's hear what u folks think. Any reasoning why would be great.

im DWC.
i flush at the end then straight water for a week till chop.
i started in dirt and did the same thing then too.
personally if i dont flush at the end, the smoke tastes harsh, when i do the buds taste like they smell.
to each his own tho i guess.
good luck either way.

Well I've always fed until about 7 days before harvest & then flush daily with water & then 2 days before harvest I give them a dose of Grotek Final Flush. I've never had a problem or any complaints from other about taste so i've never changed it but i've always grown organically too pretty much from day one.

I have been thinking though that this time i'm gonna feed daily & then flush for 2 weeks before harvest to see what the difference is...so i'll be watching this thread.

We stop a while before harvest, but with organics ytou can get quite close to the harvest date.
Chems I would quit 2 weeks before.

Okay babe it's clear you need to flush your plants in the end over fedding them through. Question now is who's technique do you go with.... How long before the chop??? Just trying to help a little!

wake...def flush your plants

regardless if your using organic or chem nutes flushing is ESSENTIAL for good flavor. flushing your plants helps the plant get rid of toxins and removes any residue from your nutes from the plant. it also has an effect on the way your bud will burn in the end. properly flushed bud will always burn to a clean ashey white while unflushed bud gets dark and black like and doesnt burn smoothly.

if you want to do a test, flush all your plants except for one. you will def see the difference.

there are many ways to flush your plants. the all natural way, with using just plain old water will work just fine. or you can use products such as clearex or final phase that will assist in the flushing. i personally like to use the final phase because it only takes 7 to 10 days to flush the plants out using that and i can keep the nutes up until the last week or flower. most people will like flushing with just plain water for the last 2 weeks, sometimes 3. you will notice a big diff in the flavor and burning quality of your trees. hoped this help. good luck buddy

I run an organic grow and cut off the nutes "approximately" two weeks before harvest. You cannot just set an arbitrary harvest date to set your flushing inception. Trich degradation is a very variable factor and can occur rapidly due to environmental influences. The best you can do is guess when you "might" harvest to set a flush schedule.

I usual stop mineral ferts when I see the first brown pistils. I do however feed the plant or better the microorganisms and fungi in the soil with seaweed, vitamins, alfalfa, molasses or beer. I usually do this two weeks before the estimated harvest date to help the plant bulking up during the last estimated two weeks of flowering. Then it's plain water for the remaining period.
