Default Did you think, she would come back?

Here a Baker Girl (Swazi Skunk x Bubba Kush) before the pruning of the roots and after. 14 days laters, she looks very nice (and overfed ;P) again. For pruning a rootball like this, nothing beats the performance of a nice (and chaep) steak knife. The slizes, I cut off, went into the freshly installed wormbin, where they have been devoured rapidly by it's inhabitants.

lately I was asked, how I train my bonsais. Here an actual photo from the swazi - An electric, sometimes overalert soaring high, that gets very dreamy later along the trip, leaving you with the urge to take a nap sometimes. I likely keep the plant for it's sturdyness, stocky stature and reliability, she always produces nice appealing flowers.
Here at this picture you can see how I have clipped her several times, keeping her at always the same height more detailled. Next picture my space queen, entering the reveg. She has actually survived this and is now growing again . All moms are renovated that way from time to time. Most of my moms are now in coco, making the maintainance even easier. But you've seen this above .

Thanks again, for starting this thread.

Inspired by your example, I am starting some bonsai moms of my own. Here is a pic. I just transplanted the clones yesterday.

The plant on the left is White Widow. The one on the right is Malawi Gold.

AB, cool, let's get more bonsais in this thread. Malawi gold, mmmhhmmm. Here a picture of the recovered Space Queen.
That's how she looked a few days ago. I guesstimate it took her about 14 days to recover and come back. Soon I will prune the old growth and update.

Default dads, yes!

I'm about to have one. Still more like a boy, lol. I clipped off all shoots from a ghani, put them in a glass of water with a sheet of white paper under them, to collect pollen. They rooted (and that were not the cuts I was talking about in the chat). I kept the best one, removed all the male parts, lol, and put him back in reveg. My IKEA kitchen cupboard holds my genetic library - 6 moms or aspiring ones, plus one dad.

that one was harvested three times, then being outdoors its starting to revegg and wll soon stop flowering. im hoping to keep him low and let him drop a little more pollen till i cull him. hes been through hell as i had him in a 4 inch container sitting out and he dried up real good but he came back.....weather here is alot more arid and hot than i imagined as we have had no rain and forrest fires all around. its working well for the veggie garden in the big containers drying them out well in a day or two and they are pretty big.

he has served his purpose indeed, make sure that male doesnt pollenate yer moms unless you want him to. its time for a nice tea for all the babies as soon as i get back in town.

Swazi Skunk and JS side by side.

I'm using my coco with the worm castings. I renovated her yesterday. A freshly cut back and repotted plant has never looked that good (and responded that fast with such a sturdy fresh groth and appearance).

closeup on the stomps

This one is for thedoob Ethiopian Sunshine, aka e-hog

Space Queen F2 with Thrips bites, but my predators bit the trips

Last but not least 'Frogger' e-hog male
