How were the roots in the pot? All soil well penetrated? I hope so. big#bud has grown the afghanis with good results. And may I ask what mix you have taken? Did you add anything to it?

certainly not don,ask away.

a just used cheap general purpose compost with fish blood & bones. but for repotting i bought 'specialist seedling and cuttings soil' from B&Q. and havent mixed anything in this time round, so that i can concentrate on the liquid feeding. for that im using IONIC GROW/BLOOM. im working up to full strength, im at 3/4 now so will be on full strength pretty soon.

Hm, I usually have most of the nutrition in the substrate. The cutting and seedling compost should be quite low in that, better suits your feeding schedule, but it may be a bit too fine, so easy on the watering. Plants look happy nonetheless

hi a small update to let evry1 know that determining sex is on the horizon. the 2 larger plants (1 afghan & 1 ethiopian) are showing there 1st signs of preflowers. too early to tell yet without a scope, but i will be able to see in the next day or 2 hopefully. so fingers crossed for females.

a question for you tho don, did your afghans all look the same??? coz as you can see 1 is short and bushy, and the other is looking very similar to the ethiopian, only it has red in the stem (looks beautiful).

No, there was quite some variation in the pack like it should be for an IBL imho, they obviously were all sisters and brothers tho. Finally I stuck with the stout cristally one. The father wasn't of any extreme stature neither tall nor stout, but very compact nevertheless. What I did was only the first step torwards generating compact plants. But I however have not much interest in continuing that line any further att, since the high was without any crisp head. It was nice and mellow and not murky either, but lacked a bit of sativa for my taste. big#bud confirmed my findings. Nevertheless the Afghan is a tough plant and a good producer and may be ideal for doing experiments with.
Always it depends on personal taste. And since I have better (the JS) I'm doing that. The (EH x OG S) x Afghan you have (it's not pure Ethiopian) has a good third Sativa in it still. So you may like that as an alterative. The JS is a bit more difficult to grow. Get a few grows under your belt and we may discuss that matter again.

Default update

just thought id throw up a few pics i took last night. all looking well and any leaves that are yellow havent been getting worse since i potted up. so thats all the problem was, thanks agin DON.

1st up (pics 1&2) is the short afghan, 1 of the side branches is as tall is the top now. so thats helping to fill my space out, its about 8" tall now.
2nd (pic 3) is the taller afghan, we pulled all of the yellowing leaves off both afghans, and now whats green, is staying green this 1 stands at around 12" tall.
and last (pic 4) is the ethiopian, like th big afghan this is also about 12" tall. but we couldnt pull ALL of the yellow leaves of this 1 or it wouldnt have many left lol but the problem isnt getting worse so im happy.

and theres a group shot thrown in last there, tell me what you think.
